Bloodwork after 3 years off

Hi guys,

I go to visit andrologist next week so he ordered a profile panel before my visit. Here are the results:

  • D.H.E.A. SULPHATE
    • 4.570 umol/L 5.73 - 13.40
  • FOLLICLE STIM. HORMONE
    • 5.52 IU/L 1.50 - 12.40
  • LUTEINISING HORMONE
    • 3.84 IU/L 1.70 - 8.60
  • TESTOSTERONE
    • 11.7 nmol/L 8.64 - 29.00
  • FREE-TESTOSTERONE(CALCULATED)
    • 0.281 nmol/L 0.20 - 0.62
  • SEX HORMONE BINDING GLOB
    • 26.1 nmol/L 18.30 - 54.10
  • FREE ANDROGEN INDEX
    • 44.83 Ratio 24.00 - 104.00
  • 17-BETA OESTRADIOL
    • 61.9 pmol/L 41.00 - 159.00
  • PROLACTIN
    • 383 mIU/L 86.00 - 324.00
  • ALBUMIN
    • 39.1 g/L 35.00 - 50.00

Is it normal prolactine swings that much? Few months ago my prolactine was 126 mIU/L

8 to 9 lol! that would practically be show ready. I am guessing 12 to 13?. I had a dexafit scan that said ten and the striations on my shoulders and tris etc were all showing. deeper abs with all veins showing on them etc. I suppose everyone can look different at 10 percent though.. not saying he doesn't look great so chill I just think people are usually off on their guesses. do a dexafit or see if your local university does hydrostatic weighing. You would be surprised.

bruh he is at a bad angle; however looking at his lower ab region and closely looking at his chest(striations/fibers showing), on top of him probably being flat dieting in that pic he attached he is most likely 8-10. People who go compete are on stage at around 5-7%. Im not saying hes stage ready(on a natty competition he can); but the fact that his lower abs literally have no fat on it tells me hes at least 10%. You can also look alot leaner then someone even if you have higher bodyfat % because of the amount of muscle you hold. Someone whos 225lbs at 12% bodyfat will look alot leaner then someone who is at 165lbs at 10% bodyfat at the height. Guarantee if OP showed a pic of him with a front view; would show a better reading of his bodyfat. OP looks to be same leaness as someone like Matt Ogus, Chris Jones, or even the deceased Zyzz who all stay around 8-11% bodyfat year round. Also Steve; I've seen people who arent as lean as OP dexascan lower than 8%; so that shit aint that accurate. Its best to gauge on how one looks; or maybe do hydrostatic testing. But.... - "The only way to truly measure your body fat is to have all of it stripped out, placed on a scale, and weighed. This method is highly accurate" Oh I also forgot to mention with dexascan they just dont read subcutaneous fat; they actually measure visceral fat which you cannot see in the mirror. Thats why I wouldn't gauge a dexascan on looking at ones bodyfat.

yes it did measure visceral fat it gave me an actuall amount for fat around organs. I think it was just under one lb.

However, for the sake of staying on-topic - as I said earlier, I am going to visit andrology clinic next Thrusday so I will keep this topic updated. If I end up on TRT, then this might be worthwhile reading for someone considering to start juicing early in life :D

The question is, how do you feel. I've got friends with t on the low side that have no problems

Hi all, here is my update.

I was at the andro clinic yesterday. Doc said my T levels are low for any guy, the fact that I am only 24 only make it look worse. He also commented on my LH/FSH levels being higher than he observes in guys around my age with normal ranges of testosterone which implies primary hypogonadism.

Just like the urologist before, this doc also had noted that my testes are in very good condition and sperm analysis came above average and healthy.

Hard to say what caused my T levels to be that low but he says the most likely it might be caused by abuse of AAS in past that could make my balls less responsive to LH/FSH stimulation.

He prescribed Androgel 1.62% 88g - 2 squeezes in the morning (which is 2.5g of gel). I could only get Androgel 5g sachets so it will be a half of sachet.

He said he prefers Androgel over shots because it better mimics natural testosterone in body and has less side effects. I have always been a bit sceptical about T gels but I am not going to argue with him since I have zero experiences with TRT and after all the gel might as well turn out to be the best fit for me.

He also suggested freezing some of my boys while my sperm count is as good as it is as it might get worse while taking exo T.

That was a good and valid point and here is what I am going to do:

  1. I will give it a go for 2 months to see whether TRT does any good for me.
  2. If yes, I will do couple shots of HCG, go freeze my boys and continue TRT.
  3. If not, then there is no reason to continue TRT and therefore no need to freeze sperm.
  4. In this case I would discontinue TRT and need to look for problem elsewhere

What do you think about all this? I am very eager to read observations from you - more experienced guys. I think I still have not fully digested the fact that I might actually end up being on TRT.

Do you actually feel that you have low T? If you’re not having any symptoms then I wouldn’t get on trt just to treat a number. I went on trt to treat a low number, lower than yours but didn’t feel all that bad and now I regret that decision.

I definitely have symptoms similar to those of low T - low libido, moodiness, no/weak morning erections, joint aches more than I used to have, lack of motivation and that "drive".

As I said earlier I am also being treated for anxiety so my situation is a bit tricky because I don't know whether low T is causing my anxiety or SSRI I am taking are causing the symptoms and the T is fine.

I was willing to abuse AAS for sport performance so I am totally fine giving TRT a shot and see whether I feel better or not.

All this low T thing sucks because all the symptoms are not that crystal clear. When you have broken leg it hurts as fuck and you simply know your bone is broken - low T symptoms are common for anxiety, stress, side effects of SSRI for some people...

What I know for sure is that the number is low for someone of my age, so the best place to start is to get it higher than this.

I am quite keen to hear more about your situation. What were your numbers when you started, why you started if you felt good? Why do you regret the decision now?

Your Dr probably gets a better kick back for prescribing the gel over the shots or he doesnt know enough about inj testosterone. There are almost no instances where patients do better on gel than shot unless they have a fear of needles. However there are stacks of reports where testosterone gels didnt work well and patients were switched to im shot and boom, night and day. Wish you the best in your endeavor.

Antidepressants will definitely cause low libido and some other low T like symptoms. I remember I took a tricyclic antidepressant for a few months and I had no libido, ed, I actually felt like a robot. I ditched but the dr didn’t warn me of the withdrawals so that was a crazy week, going from crying to rage but I guess the good part was I was jacking it like 5-10x/day lol. Always been afraid of antidepressants ever since.

Well when I felt good my T was ~240ng which would be about 8.328 nmols, had crazy libido tho, like I could have sex 3x and need to jack off another 2x or I’d have wood all night. When I finally went on libido I did have lower libido, my T fell to 130ng or 4.511 nmols. Thought trt would give me more energy and motivation but made no difference, I think the problem there is mental and possibly sleep apnea, currently waiting on results.

Now I have T in the top side of normal, but I still can’t get that libido I had at 240ng or 8.328nmols. For a few months I don’t even get good morning wood but I still can when I’m awake. I think it’s all mental tho, was with a girl I liked having sex with when my libido was crazy high now I feel slightly depressed, not cause of that girl because I don’t ever go out lol.

Oh I used to use opioids which reduce T and benzos and because of the drugs I was obese so that was a big factor in low T. I’m 100lbs lighter and almost completely off of suboxone. I was 3o-31 when I started trt in 2017.

Well yeah, gel is much more expensive than injectable too. It feels funny rubbing that ammount of gel on myself lol.

He explained his preference for gel as gel more closely mimics natural testosterone fluctuation. Besides only available inj testosterones in our pharmacies are undecanoate (Nebido) and Sustanon. Undecanoate is too slow and causes big peak and valleys he said which I quite agree, but this disadvantage could be offseted by more frequent application. But again I did not want to argue with him on day 1 where I have zero experiences with TRT

Your Doctor is a fucking moron. "The gel mimics more natural testosterone" release? hahaha

Dude, switch to shots and avoid the hassle
