Anyone mind taking a minute to check if I've got the right stuff here for a basic small bottle top filter set up?

Looks pretty good for a basic setup except those media bottles are pretty large. If you’re gonna be doing 500ml at a time you might want to consider an electrical vacuum pump

Looks like you did your homework! Those red caps are sweet. Think you can heat up to like 350f without them melting. Something like that. Lol. Good luck on brew. And yeah. Electric vacuum pump. Save you some work.

Solid setup. That brake bleeder will work fine. Assuming you are filtering a lot of oil just check every once in a while and pump back up to range if it dropped. It'll get done. Just going to say it's really nice to do a 500ml batch...;-)

It won’t let me see the bleeder or glass media bottle.
Think you could pm me what those 2 look like and where you purchased them. I would be much appreciated!

That looks very similar to my setup. I recently did my first bottle top batch of test.

The plastic catch basin cracked but didn't break. From then on I used my glass catch basin.

I believe i might have the exact brake bleeder pump you do.
My experience with the glass bottle is I had to constantly be pumping the damn thing. It also took longer than I thought it would to do 100ml test enth.
In the end it's definitely easier on the hands than the syringe filter but I'm still keeping Whatmans on hand as well.

I plan to buy a compressor so I don't have to keep pumping the hand pump.

I just was paranoid with the filters not saying sterile but the big guy told me it was safe lol

Is this brake bleeder hand pump g2g for bottle top filtering?
I'm moving on from a peasant with syringe filtering and trying bottle top.

also nalgene sterile nylon bottle top 0.22um? I know wattman is the OG... hoping nalgene is still good. media bottle is 45mm, image below isn't accurate.

The brake bleeder is fine. Lots of people use that one. What material is the filter? I use Millipore Durapore .22. Size and material matter. Bottle sounds fine. I'd recommend regular tops and septa tops also. Convenient

It would be helpful to have it posted up..

Can anyone verify what types of filter membrane ARE ok to use and which are NOT ok to use?

I think im just going to stay a peasant and do syringe filtering. I don't mind it, it's just time consuming. Plus i already have everything i need for it.

Between bottle top and syringe filtering, how much time would you say you save? I can do 50mls of oil using syringe in like 30ish mins.

IF anyone has good ways to speed this up, I'm all ears. I use the caulk gun, but would like to find a way to have constant pressure without standing there with it for every damn second.

You can get a decent electric pump for like 30 bucks.. turn it on and leave it. 200ml in 15min depending on pump you have.
