Dear fellow Narcissists,
We think very highly of ourselves, we think we are smarter than most people, and we are, but we had to adapt to other people or else we would call everybody STUPID. And they are not stupid. You are just that smart. Not a lot of us can transcend to this insight, and you may think I don't know who you are. I know exactly who you are.

You had a childhood filled with competition, and you excelled! You really did, and that confidence didn't really result in confidence. You made it so that your confidence is based on your performance. That's why you hate losing, and that's why you kick a$$ as well. Don't make your superior abilities a curse for other people. Use that brain to help people instead. If you drive like an maniac in traffic, practice slowing down, you are stressing yourself out. That's a stress-like behavior, it isn't healthy.

It would be interesting to see how many people here have their own business. I think it is more than I would guess.

Some things you said are wholly correct, some not so much (for me at least)

I drive maybe 10%over the speed limit.

I use that time to make all my phone calls, as quite simply, office time is for document production.

If you cant slow down and arrive on time, then time management needs to become a priority for that persons growth as an owner.

That being said, I am retarded..
I started work at 0630 yesterday, I'll be going until 10pm tonight.

Start your own business they said
Make your own hours they said.

Turns out you get LESS choice of hours and days, as my work and time is dictated by necessity.

Fun times eh Sworder?

Try driving in the middle lane on the freeway, drive slow. It will be hard because it is a mental block. It is caused by stress.

That's how I have been thinking lately. I ask, "Am I in a hurry to get somewhere?" If the answer is No, I drive with the flow of traffic. And I people watch like crazy. I watch people whom are switching lanes constantly and speeding, using the gas too much and having to brake. It's fun :P

Work on your business model! Am sure you can improve, also, if you need help or suggestions I am pretty skilled at looking at businesses and finding where to improve. What type of work do you do?

Start tracking where all your time is spent. Gather data about everything and then analyze the data.

I don't know if you would be happy working for somebody else though. We always find something to complain about :P

This is my number one reason for being a self employed, running multiple businesses and running everyone I know and love into the ground lol. At lest when it is your business you have no one to blame but yourself!

Yeah, it takes a very special kind of person to have his own business. Same goes for females, and females that own their own business are going to be very similar to us in regards to values and background.

What about those of us who grew up hard and got shit all over? Those who failed more times than succeeded and used that is a motivation to keep changing and improving?
That's going to be pretty much the same type of people. :)

My wife puts in the same if not more effort as I do. We both hit the weight pile at 4 am and go all day. Plus she takes good care of me and puts up with my nonsense and irreverence

Without going into too much detail, I'm well aware of my issues with my business model.
At my current stage, I have a choice.
Hire competant managers to replace me, (which obviously results in large expenditures, as I would have to hire 2x people at over 100k salary with Benefits... and I'm still a small business)

OR roll that 200k into training and taking on new projects and hiring ground forces to work the projects.

In the short term, growth is preferable over stability.

Okay I got you. Sounds like a typical small business problem, corporations can make life rough. Expenses and expenses, also fees, then more fees, and regulations. :)

I try lol. 7 days a week at

The over regulation of modern north America makes it difficult for small and medium businesses to operate. This is why I fucking hate the lobby !!!

Yeah I am having to close down a business idea that I was working on for a while mainly because corporations dominate the market and I can't create a profitable model with them in the picture.

Isn't it supposed to be illegal having monopolies?

Laws that come from the same type of thinking that created the problem in the first place are doomed to fail my friend

I’m self employed as well and already mentioned above “work less hours they said, take off when you want to they said” is so true.

I average 80ish hours a week and could easily work 8 days a week 30 hours a day if time and my body allowed it.

It’s definitely addicting and like having a baby and watching it grow. I’m a fairly new business owner (2 years) and I’m still learning..

I just learned this week from my cpa I better be buying a new truck asap

If you have a logo for your business it should be a certain color based on what field you are in. There is a lot of psychology in colors and shapes.

If you want, let me know what color your logo is and what business you are in and I can advise on what colors you should be using, based on science. You can look it up too.

Blue is for competence or authority - anything medical, security etc should be blue.

Red is excitement, the best color by far to use in logos generally speaking.

Black is for more "serious" companies, martial arts, bail bonds etc.

Black.

Automation/ programming
Okay, when I say my opinion. I say what I think it best for your business based on the color science.

For automation, your log should be red. If the company is programming, it should be blue. Use a combination of the two if you want but you really should change the color of your logo. It will make you a lot more money without you noticing it.

What companies will do when changing color or name is make the two colors gradient first. Or if a name change using a hyphen and then removing the hyphen/gradient color after a couple months. Gotta get your customers used to the new logo without scaring them off.

You could use a combination of both but black is not optimal for your business. If you don't trust me check the colors of the huge corporations in your field, they have their colors for a reason and it's based on science.

You understand where I am coming from right? I don't want to make it sound like it's my opinion...
