Anyone ever see scrolling yt or ig these dudes just doing calesthenics...they aren't as jacked as bodybuilders but most look way better in terms of being balanced, lean, physique just flows. No distention, never lagging parts, etc.

Seems like there are 2 styles...prison style just spam high volume basics dips, chins, push-ups, diamond pushups. Then Weighted which is more similar to bodybuilding /street lifting, skinny ripped dudes doing dips with 3x45 or chins with 2x45. The serious ones use weights for legs. No direct delt work but they all have round delts, no distance, a tight core and v taper.

Thoughts? Is it because they don't overcomplicate the shit out of training with cuffed lateral raises, machine flyes, all these isolation stuff and just focus on the basics?

Anyone ever try calesthenics and not just chins on back day dips on chest day...but make it your base workout?

Lol. In all seriousness...I do find it interesting to try just for a novel stimulus. Obviously it isn't ideal for becoming a freak but I do think it could be beneficial as I bet there are a ton of dudes lifting heavy weights who can't do 5 chins. The core control itself would be worth it wirh how much distension many have from slamming calories daily

It wouldn't hurt, and you're probably right about the chinups. For me, chinups and pullups tear my old man shoulders apart.

Just stumbled across this thread and couldn’t resist chiming in. I went through a calisthenics phase watching guys like Chris Heria (dude was my hero lol). Tried doing even the “easy” stuff he showed… ended up tearing a wrist ligament. Took forever to recover. But for real, those dudes look super balanced and lean cause they just hammer the basics. No overcomplicated isolation work, just clean, consistent volume or load. I tried making calisthenics my main training for a while, it’s humbling, but super effective if you stick with it.

They got jacked with gear and typical bodybuilding-style training

For clicks on youtube or tiktok or whatever, they find a niche like calisthenics or body weight workouts, make videos in their spare time, and cash in
