Can touching a barbell in the gym get you sick with the coronavirus?

Holy shit are you stupid. Really fucking stupid. I'm in the medical profession, and the problem is the idiots going on about their life like nothing is wrong are causing the hospitals to be overwhelmed. That means people that need procedures done like angiograms, pacemakers, screening exams, etc are not getting them done. Yeah, I don't want to go to work though, that's why we want shutdowns. Your statement is probably the single dumbest thing I have read in a long time, if not ever.
How is someone an idiot by going around like nothing is happening?

x amount of people died last year by getting hit by cars. if you drive a card today, are you in idiot that is ignorant to the fact that you could potentially run over someone and then they die?

In lilhawks defense I was unclear in my post. I meant not that medical professionals, politicians and media did not want to work, I meant they for the most part will continue to be employed while many others are at risk of losing their jobs if there are lockdowns.

And it is not so much a lack of belief about the danger of the virus, for many it is more risky to the family to lose a job at this point than to potentially catch the virus. However, public health and economic health are not against each other, at least not at all times. There comes a time where there are tipping points, and an unchecked virus, and not the govt, will cost us our jobs. However too long of a shutdown and a quick and large increase in poverty is going to have a lot of negative effect on public health. I see limited restrictions and masks and social distancing as ways to make sure we are economically as open as we can. My hope would be govt would move between single stages of opening rather than these broad moves from almost open to basically shut. Go from stage 5 open back to 4 and then 3 if needed, etc and move cautiously in and out of stages. We seem to be turning the faucet off and on rather than adjusting the stream. But I am not a very educated person, to say the least, so I am sure I am oversimplifying things quite a bit. If it were that easy we would probably have already figured out how to balance economy and health and be doing it.

The government has no rhyme or reason to what they are doing, the numbers are not given in context and not reliable. They can't even garuntee a test is reliable they have no way to confirm who has it, who has the flu, who is fine, see Elon musk. 4 tests 2 positive , 2 negative. left nostril says positive, right negative, its one big joke.

I don't know why public health is even a thing. every individual is capable of taking care of their own health, us of all people know this. no government is responsible for everyones health any more than anyones finances or making sure anyone gets laid this weekend.

^^^ is that the same governor who outlawed buying paint and garden supplies at Walmart because of a flu like sickness?
Yes it is, And her husband got busted trying to take his boat out of rack storage and put in lake Michigan during our spring boating ban.
I do support some restrictions but regular people pay the price. You cant go out to eat but its ok to go work in a car plant with a few thousand other people.....many who are dropping like flies of the virus. You and I cant cross the border to Canada but thousands of trucks and trains cross daily to transport chemicals and car parts. Basically if you have connections and money your exempt!
Don't get me started! lol.

The drug maker Pfizer said on Wednesday that its coronavirus vaccine was 95 percent effective and had no serious side effects — the first set of complete results from a late-stage vaccine trial as Covid-19 cases skyrocket around the globe.

The data showed that the vaccine prevented mild and severe forms of Covid-19, the company said. And it was 94 percent effective in older adults, who are more vulnerable to developing severe Covid-19 and who do not respond strongly to some types of vaccines.

Pfizer, which developed the vaccine with its partner BioNTech, said the companies planned to apply to the Food and Drug Administration for emergency authorization “within days,” raising hopes that a working vaccine could soon become a reality.

Ever read the book 1984? Oh wait, governments are all so wonderful they never intend to take power and opress people. Put down the medical book and read about world history. Yeah smoking and second hand smoke can kill people but you would look like an idiot standing on the roof top and starting an anti smoking campaign if for instance a government was committing genocide, no one would give a fuck.

No one gives a fuck (with a brain) about a cold with a .3 percent death rate when everyone is having their freedom taken away.
People do that...about the smoking

Its horrible that almost every small business after covid is going to be gone or owe the government hundreds of thousands of dollars.

yet the US was founded on small business.

the spread of the virus is so real,

it went from a horrible virus, to a horrible virus and a horrible economy.

so much debt is going to be racked up.
