Controlling High BP.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned water? This is the best thing to thin blood out.

Ensure you are getting adequate amounts of water intake daily.

Personally, I don't feel taking medication for blood pressure is the answer. Take one thing (aas) then have to take more medication to counter the sides?

Personally there is many natural sources that help lower blood pressure.

What I take daily is 10grams of l-argenine
4 grams of l-citruline
600mg magnesium ( and if you aren't supplementing with magnesium anyways you are really cheating yourself. )

And of course I drink ginger and green tea daily.

My blood pressure remains at 110/ 70 this is taken 3 times per day for a few selected random days out of the week.

A final note: my blood pressure used to be 140/85 constantly years ago until I decided to do something about it. But I've never taken a medication product to fix the underlying issue since medication only masks the underlying issue.

God dam Roger you are a wealth of information, I love following your posts. I learn something new every time.

I'm teetering on the verge of high blood pressure. I need to start working on lowering it. No matter how lean I stay the higher my BMI goes the higher my BP goes.

According to an article dr scally posted.. the new guidelines are basically anything over 120/80 will be considered elevated blood pressure.

I agree with the medical field on this on.

Elevated blood pressure causes microscopic tears in the arteries, the higher it is, the more microscopic tears you receive.

In an article I read a few years ago it stated: " as the body heals the microscopic tears over and over, the arteries become less elastic and buildup occurs from the healing process"

This is why it is very important to keep it low. Prevent complication like stroke and heart attack etc in the future.

It's horrible when I see people say 140/80 isn't that bad, Because it is in the long haul. Same as oil pressure in your car. If it remains elevated... eventually your engine will fail. ironically though, we seem to get panic stuck when that occurs and fix immediately... but when our body that gets us from point a to b is elevated, we put it aside.

If your blood pressure is elevated..really try hard to bring it down[emoji106][emoji106]

When you are talking about ingesting you are correct. But the absorption rate is still low when taking orally.

Topical magnesium is better absorb. The skin / largest organ soaks it in far better and bypasses the digestion system.

So yes, you are correct it is the best form when speaking of taking orally by mouth, but then we are comparing apples vs. oranges.

In particular what kind of magnesium do you take and what brand if you don' mind me asking. Also, do you recommnd a certain dosage and timing for celery seed?

I'll post a picture of the brand of magnesium I use for you when I get home in a few hours.

When I do use celery seed I normally just run the recommended dosage on the bottle. If I'm holding a lot of water which normally I don't, I'll up it from there for a little while.

But celery seed or celery seed extract is good because it doesn't alter your sodium to potassium ratio. So you can use low to moderate dosage for a while. Just give it a shot and play with it till you find what works for you my man[emoji106][emoji51][emoji106]

I agree about the importance of keeping BP down. Two things that always gets me though:

1. GPs are generally unaware that BP cuffs which are too tight result in false highs

2. I suffer from white coat syndrome, which is quite prevalent. I've used my own BP monitor with thigh cuff (>21 inch :p) at home just before going to the doc, and readings were optimal. At the med centre, however, my BP was elevated on both the GP's monitor and my own one :D I also get sweaty and really anxious whenever I see a doctor.

White-Coat Hypertension

15-30% of subjects!

Buy carditone from Amazon. Works just as Well as prescription meds
Never heard of it until your post--- looked it up and you are right--many positive reviews--- I ordered a bottle--- my BP goes up when on cycle and during stressful times--- I am hoping this along with celery seed extract will knock it back down.

Here’s the 2017 AHA list of lifestyle modifications that have been shown to reduce BP bt 5-10mm/hg

- Regular Exercise
- Limiting salt consumption to (<2gms/day)
- Weight loss
- Reduction in Cholesterol
- and I’ll add limiting the use of PEDS

NOTE the guidelines do NOT include ANY OTC supplements

Of course you won't see aha list any natural otc supplements listed. Big pharma doesn't pay them to lost those.

We all know big pharma will discredit any natural way since that takes away money from their pockets.

If there’s evidence Big Pharma is obstructing supplement sales in general I’d like to see it.

The fact is a variety of supplements have been tested by Big Pharma and failed to meet the evidence based criteria required by the FDA, to be sold as DRUGS!

As I’ve mentioned previously as per FDA guidelines while supplements manufacturers are required to provide evidence their OTC products have not been shown to cause harm, unlike DRUGS, they are NOT required to provide EFFICACY data.

Whats the best way to control blood pressure thats test related? Will excess estrogen cause bp to go up significantly?
Well; I manage E2 with Arimidex and that helps a lot; also I use garlic concentrated drops, that also helps me, I have noticed that when I am dehydrated my BP rises so I always try to keep myself well hydrated; I also take a couple of olive oil table spoons daily

This is the age old debate between homeopathic people and doctors. We will never agree but the FDA is not best organization. Especially when medical methods in other countries have been proven to work but our FDA says it's not good enough. Wonder what could be the reason behind that? Probably something to do with money and profit I'm sure....

What troubles me is folk using supplements as a substitute for
medications with a proven benefit.

For instance I JUST ADMITTED a gal in DKA, who decided to manage her Diabetes with supplements rather than insulin and metformin.

The FDA REQUIRES clinical trials are conducted to prove a substance WORKS, for a specific indication, and that’s NOT the case with supplements.
