That looks good RPE wise. How does it feel? You feeling good and looking forward to workouts?
Feels good and definately have more. I do as a matter of fact look forward to them. I used to hate bench but love it now lol..

Glad i decided to video this one. I have been concentrating on bringing up my left side and looks like I have as it now can push past right so back to normal now.
 
Yeah, I favor the one side sometimes if I'm not being careful. I was hurt on one side for years.

It's a good sign you're looking forward to sessions. By the middle of your deload week you should be ready to murder some weights.

Thanks, have you ever heard of anyone doing better than a 30lb increase on 1RM after Smolov?
 
I think you definitely could. I’ve gotten good increases running it. You could even extend it one additional week to make a final increase.

I really thought about doing this last time. I felt great finishing week 3 and my RPE was still very low. What made me not do it was my pecs were locking up when I'd do stuff like reaching over to buckle my seatbelt. Was afraid I'd end up injured.

I would say it's possible. Are you saying your current max is 255? If so, I would say it's likely you'll see a dramatic jump in your 1rm. You're in a phase of lifting that you'll just see faster progression a lot more. Once you get to 315, you can't expect the same progression. Once you get to +405, that's typically when you start being very pleased with just 10lb increases.

With all that said, smolov was the most rewarding program I've ever ran for bench... But, it was also the most non sustainable program I ever ran. Most people do some sort of modification to it to make it work for them.. that's likely how the Jr version came into existence.

My current max is 255 had maybe 265 but stopped at 255.
And thanks to be honest Smolov has made bench my favorite lift now.
 
Haha bad pin this am, delts. Close to a nerve so got a twitch, pinned anyway. Pulled pin and blood ran down arm leg all over the floor. Held new alcohol pad on it for a bit now have a huge welt, assume nicked a vein, and the pin hole closed so blood under skin. Pin was deep so not worried about lost oil
