Author: Hillary flooded Amazon with negative reviews of my book

Dirty trickster Roger Stone seems to be the victim of dirty tricks.

The political consultant’s new book, “The Clintons’ War on Women,” is the top-rated political history seller on Amazon, but the online retailer was flooded last week with one-star reviews.

“My publisher [Skyhorse] confirmed with Amazon — they were all from the same URL, at Hillary’s HQ in Brooklyn,” Stone — whose clients have included Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump — told me. “Why are they so afraid of this book?”

According to Politico, Clinton press secretary Brian Fallon told bundlers last month: “When this Roger Stone book comes out — we’ll obtain the book. Our research team will be able to go through it . . . There will be a war room set up to deal with that.”

Amazon is separately suing more than 1,000 people it claims are posting fake reviews and selling them for a cost starting at $5. It is estimated that 15 percent of online reviews are generated by boiler-room operations.

America’s largest online retailer is demanding the defendants stop selling Amazon reviews, disclose who is buying their service and identify which reviews were paid for.

After an appearance on MSNBC was canceled Monday afternoon at the last minute, Stone said the network was under pressure from the Clintons. He was also scratched last week from the Larry Wilmore show on Comedy Central.

Stone said, “I’m obviously getting under their skin.”

Spokespersons for Amazon and Hillary didn’t get back to me before deadline.

Dear Abby:

My husband is a liar and a cheat. He has cheated on me from the beginning and when I confront him, he denies everything. What's worse, everyone knows that he cheats on me. It is so humiliating.

Also, since he lost his job 14 years ago, he hasn't even looked for a new one. All he does all day is smoke cigars, cruise around and shoot the bull with his buddies, while I have to work to pay the bills.

Since our daughter went away to college he doesn't even pretend to like me, and even hints that I may be a lesbian.

What should I do?

Signed: Clueless

Dear Clueless:
Grow up and dump him. You don't need him any more!
Good grief woman, you're running for President of the United States.

I don't care if your an ass or an elephant. No one should be allowed to run for president while under investigation. With that said, the only thing the Dem candidates are good for are punch lines on Saturday Night Live.

Watchdog: Clinton's server had classified material beyond 'top secret'
By Rachael Bade and Josh Gerstein

Intelligence officials have discovered sensitive national security information on Hillary Clinton’s server that goes beyond the “top secret” level, the intelligence community inspector general told lawmakers in a letter last week.

In a copy of the Jan. 14 correspondence obtained by POLITICO, Intelligence Community Inspector General I. Charles McCullough III told both the Senate Intelligence and Senate Foreign Relations committees that intelligence agencies found messages relating to what are known as “special access programs,” or SAP. That’s an even more restricted subcategory of sensitive compartmented information, or SCI, top secret national security information derived from sensitive intelligence sources.

“To date, I have received two sworn declarations from one [intelligence community agency],” the letter reads. “These declarations cover several dozen emails containing classified information determined by the [intelligence community agency] to be at the confidential, secret, and top secret/sap levels. According to the declarant, these documents contain information derived from classified [intelligence community agency]sources.”

The declarations cover "several dozen emails containing classified information determined by the IC element to be at the CONFIDENTIAL, SECRET and TOP SECRET/SAP information."

An intelligence official familiar with the matter told NBC News that the special access program in question was so sensitive that McCullough and some of his aides had to receive clearance to be read in on it before viewing the sworn declaration about the Clinton emails.

The Future of the Democratic Party
The Future of the Democratic Party

What liberals can learn from conservatives

The future of the Democratic Party is the theme of the lead article in yesterday’sNew York Times. The story more or less writes itself: you have Hillary Clinton, the face of the moderate Democratic establishment (and the spouse of the man who created it), versus Bernie Sanders, a socialist, in a battle most people thought she would have wrapped up months ago.

A lot of liberals like me spend our time wondering what the conservatives have done right—and why we can’t do it ourselves. The financial crisis and Great Recession should have debunked the ideology of deregulation, reinforced growing feelings of economic insecurity, and made people recognize the importance of the social safety net. Instead, we got the Tea Party and the most conservative Congress in living memory.

Seen in the broader sweep of history, conservatives have been relentlessly pushing the nation’s political agenda to the right on most issues (gay rights being almost the only exception), even as public opinion on most social and economic issues remains largely unchanged. Marco Rubio—just four years ago a darling of the Tea Party—is now the last hope of the Republican “moderate” establishment: what other proof is needed of the success of conservative ideology? Sure, extremism makes it hard for Republicans to win presidential elections. But although Democrats have won four and a half out of the past six contests, the result has been lower taxes on the wealthy, smaller government, no progress on climate change or gun control, and a solidly conservative federal judiciary.

So why can’t we do the same?

Sanders Says Clinton ‘Not All That Progressive’ on Many Issues

Hillary Clinton sometimes calls herself a “progressive” and other times describes herself as “moderate,” Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders tells CNN about his rival.

  • One can’t be both moderate and progressive, Sanders says
  • In repeated jabs at Clinton, Sanders says “most” progressives he knows don’t take millions of dollars from Wall Street; were always against U.S. 2003 war in Iraq; didn’t vacillate on matters such as Keystone, TPP, gay marriage
  • These are issues Clinton hasn’t been “all that progressive about”
  • Sanders touts his record, saying he’s taken on big banks and fought for health care as right of all people

Hillary Clinton struggled through an ‘awkward’ answer about her six-figure Goldman Sachs speaking fees

Hillary Clinton shrugs off Goldman Sachs speaking fees - CNN Video

AP Photo/John MinchilloDemocratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, right, stands to answer a question from the audience alongside host Anderson Cooper during a Democratic primary town hall sponsored by CNN, Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, in Derry, N.H.

Hillary Clinton struggled Wednesday night through an answer about the large paychecks she received from investment bank Goldman Sachs for several speeches, yet argued it would not corrupt her judgment when it comes to regulating the finance industry.

During a CNN town-hall event Wednesday, moderator Anderson Cooper asked if Clinton used poor judgment by accepting $675,000 from Goldman Sachs for three speeches. The Democratic presidential front-runner said she was simply following the footsteps of past secretaries of state.

"I don’t know. That’s what they offered," she said. "Every secretary of state that I know has done that."

When Cooper asked how she thought the speeches would appear during a presidential campaign, Clinton suggested she hadn't thought about such implications because she wasn't sure if she would run for president.

"When I was secretary of state, several times I said, 'You know, I think I’m done.' And so many people came to me, started talking to me," Clinton said. "The circumstances, the concerns I had about the Republicans taking back the White House, because I think they wrecked what we achieved in the 90s with 23 million new jobs, I did not want to see that happen again."

She continued: "But, you know, anybody who knows me who thinks they can influence me: Name anything they’ve influenced me on. Just name one thing. I’m out here every day saying I’m going to shut them down. I’m going after them."

She later added: "They're not giving me that much money now."

But Clinton's critics have attempted to use the speaking fees to highlight the former secretary of state's cozy relationship with Wall Street.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont), Clinton's chief rival for the Democratic nomination, has frequently highlighted her Goldman speaking fees.

His campaign quickly noted the moment Wednesday night. It sent out a release to reporters detailing Clinton's connections to the investment bank, along with news clips describing the role that Goldman Sachs played in the lead-up to the 2008 financial crisis.

Clinton's answer prompted several others, like former Obama senior adviser David Axelrod, to question why she still does not appear to have a concrete answer for a question that has come up repeatedly on the campaign trail:

Wow. Spectacularly bad answer on Goldman Sachs speeches, even though she must have known it was coming.

How does Hillary Clinton not have an answer for this "you took huge speaking fees" from Wall Street question?
