Diagnostic healthcare beyond bloodwork?

we are all hopefully getting our bloods checked semi regularly but there are other sides to the health story as well

An obvious and easy one is monitoring your blood pressure, for example. I do this regularly.

I’d like to invite discussion on other ways we can monitor our health. For example, I was thinking a heart MRI done periodically might be a smart move to monitor any development of LVH.

I get cardiac ultrasounds and EKG done yearly due to a genetic heart condition (BAV), I find both of those helpful to monitor for issues like those. Getting a CAC score once every 3-5 years for younger guys or every 2 years or so for someone older would be very helpful as well

I'm in the same boat as you. Same heart condition. What do you do to control blood pressure, and is your cardiologist aware of your aas use? The free telmisartan is definitely nice lol

Yeah i do 80mg telmisartan and beet root extract, my doc exclusively works with athletes so has a few other bodybuilder patients. He does the routine “I have to counsel you and let you know again that i disapprove of steroids and you should not take them” each time, and then gets me my scans and bp meds. I did add in 12.5mg HCTZ recently after injuring my knee and being unable to do cardio daily while on high growth hormone which made the water retention insane.

I try to check bp 2-3x weekly at least and it’s been in a pretty good range for the past year or so

I'm too scared to tell my Drs I'm in steroids lol. Do you take nebivilol? I was considering adding it for when my cycle starts bumping up a bit. I'm only on 20mg telmisartan though.

I do a yearly prenuvo scan… a total body MRI

Also got a colonoscopy and calcium score just to be carefully (I’m 45)
