DNP causing rash/allergic reaction?

I have a friend who’s running his first cycle of DNP (Symbiotics) and after a week and a half on 250mg a day he has began to itch all over, and break out in hives, and welts. I did a bit of reading, and apparently this can be a side effect of DNP. Any of you guys have input or experience on this? Any DNP vets or gurus available to chime in? Thank you.

Allergic reactions, along with PN (peripheral neuropathy) are the most common serious sides of DNP. There are many other sides, but these two are red flags that say to stop.

Often if the rash is minor you can take Benadryl and he can try that but if it's as serious as you describe he may need to stop.

If you search this forum, you'll find a lot of info as allergic reactions are not uncommon. There is a sticky that has lots of info right ^^^^ up there.

Exactly, common knowledge that allergic reactions happen in some folks. He should have had an antihistamine if it was his very first time. That should take care of it.

Drop the DNP. Take Benadryl. It's unlikely he'll ever be able to use it in the future.

DNP has a highish rate of allergic reactions associated with it. Sometimes it's a one time thing and other times it can be very serious. It's not something to play with.
