Ugh... I'm on day 8 of poison oak myself right now. First time ever getting either poison oak or Ivy... Shit spreads like wildfire. Slathering on hydrocortisone cream, started today... But a bleach wipe down? Hmmmm..

The oil from the leaves of the plant is what causes the allergic reaction like Kakarot/Goku pointed out. The oil is very resilient and can last a long time even after the plant dies. Outdoor pets, yard work, etc are all ways to catch it. Hell, even your neighbor burning the plants can get the oil in the air and cause it to get in your lungs.

The bleach simply cuts through the oil rather than allowing it to spread more on your body and at the same time acts to dry out the blisters. Hydrocortisone doesn't do anything for me. Calamine lotion is worthless bc I can tolerate the itch after getting this for over 25years. The shots the doctor gives you is basically the only thing to kill it quickly for me.

My wife bought some kind of wash/soap for me last time I had it, seemed to help some. Creams just seem to make it spread on me

We went to a wedding in the white mountains a few years ago. Beautiful property, perfect wedding. We went for a walk back to the truck later that night to get something and she ended up squatting to take a piss. The night carried on.

We ended up fucking like animals later on as one would expect. Lol, so let me tell you about poison something transferring from her booty (from squatting to piss) to all over my everything! We suffered for a little bit

Yeah. It sounds crazy but I break off a small chunk and grind into a powder. Then, slowly add drops of water and mix until it's good and creamy. I smear that into the rash and rub until it's bleeding. It's kinda gritty so it helps break it open.

Leave it on for bout an hour. Works every time.

How long till it clears up usually? With and without the chlorine. Willing to go this route if it helps hahahha

Without any treatment, it lasts for at least a month. It just keeps spreading. The original spot will start to clear up but always makes it way to my waistline. This area takes the longest to go away since it continually irritated by clothes.

With the treatment, it's 50% better in 24 hours and in about 3-4 days it's nearly gone. You gotta get nasty with it and scrub the piss out of the rash. It has to bleed and purge all the oils from the skin. Once the area is opened up, I dab more chlorine on it to keep drying it out. It'll look like a carpet burn the next day. It sucks but it clears it up.

By th time you mentioned the chlorine it was already beginning to die out so I never started it. I will for next time though.

Haven't been on a scale since about 2wks ago but at that time I was down 11lbs
