Doc log

Sounds very much like sleep apnea man, and not a mild case of it... Do the sleep study as soon as you can.

Do you still have your tonsils?

It will all depend on how My insurance handles this. The most fucked up part is that I feel the most tired and physically exhausted first thing in the morning. As the day goes on I tend to feel more rested and better overall even if I'm working the whole day.

No idea about my tonsils as weird as that is lol. I think I do...

Sounds like sleep apnea for sure--- I had same symptoms--- did the sleep study and now I sleep a lot better--- been on the CPAP for about 3 years now--- even have a couple portable ones for when I travel.

I've been pretty sure it's sleep apnea for a while now. None of my precious doctors were really concerned with it and basically blew me off. Finally got one who said "that's not normal, let's get a specialist to look at you"...

They might recommend removing them to help, if you still have them. You can see them if you still have them, in the very back of your mouth on the sides... They look like lumps kind of. Give it some serious thought before you get them removed, it was one of the most miserable experiences I've ever had.

It's a kind of long and tedious process, I was lucky everything kind of went "quickly" for me. I'm having trouble using it though, I am going to try and lose weight until I can get rid of it... Probably surgery as well at some point.

Why was removing your tonsils bad? I think they want to try that on my girl. Would you recommend it or not?

You use or are prescribed a CPAP no? How is it?

Anything above the age of like 16 or so is considered an adult procedure. When you're young, it's apparently not a real big deal. A day or two with a sore throat and some ice cream.

An adult procedure, is a lot more painful. I'm not sure why, I guess because they're fully grown and very much attached lol. It was extremely painful... I've had wisdom teeth out and knee surgery, neither came close to how much pain the tonsillectomy caused. I think I went through my full scrip of Vicodin in about 24 hours. They called me in oxy after that, still barely touched the pain... I could only really eat ice cream for about a week straight. Pain lasted for about two weeks total.

With that said, if it needs done it needs done... Just make sure it's necessary. If it is, probably don't tell her how bad it's going to be... Just make sure you got good supplies.

I'm prescribed one but I only use it about half the time lately... It's not fun man. However, a lot of people have no problem with them. I really need to go get a different mask to try. Right now, I'm on a mission to get to very low levels of bodyfat to try and get out of the sleep apnea zone. I'm also expecting to have a surgery next year on my jaw, which is unrelated to apnea but the doctor thinks could probably cure it.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out in October. I wasn't allowed to take the oxy's and I ended up only taking 2 of te 800mg ibuprofen they gave me. That wasn't that bad at all for me. This would be much worse?

My experience with wisdom teeth was no big deal. Matter of fact, I look back on it as a fun experience lol... I didn't really need the oxy they gave me. I, of course, ate them like candy and that weekend turned into a haze of watching movies and chilling on the moon.

So, I kind of expected more of the same with the tonsils coming out... That shit rocked my world. There was just nothing that would take that pain down to a manageable level. I thought it was going to be fine when I woke up from the anesthesia, but they had me on fentanyl. Felt a little swelling but I was relieved. About 4-6 hours later I knew I was in for trouble.

With all that said, I might have been an extreme case. My tonsils were enlarged so that probably just meant more surface area to cut and cauterize. But, it's better to be prepared... My mom was a dental hygienist and knew a lot about the procedure and tried to warn me but the doctor said it was going to be no big deal. I believed him and thought my mom was just being a mom, turned out she was right.

Funny story: I live nearby a little gas station. Every morning after my surgery, I would walk there and get two pints of ice cream. I had trouble sleeping so this typically occurred around 6am or so. I would walk in, looking disheveled and high as fuck, get two pints of ice cream at 6am and say nothing. Needless to say, the cashier's gave me a look like they thought this was kind of weird looking. I couldn't talk beyond a light whisper because it hurt so much.

After about 4 days of this, I explained to them what was going on because I could just about talk in a normal speaking voice. They laughed, thought I was just having a rough week.

That's funny. They had to have been thinking you were strung out haha

I had really bad sleep apnea. Like 30 "incidents" are considered "very high", I had 127. The docs even advised me against the surgery. Now my sleep apnea has gotten MUCH better since I lost weight (I have a bipap, never use it)

I wanted to reach out to you and ask how the sleep apnea has changed for you since you've been slimming down.

I'm hoping for the same effect... I can't imagine having to use that thing for the rest of my life.

If you get just the nose piece maybe, but the full face mask was hot, and you had to take it off to get water or pee.

I have another sleep study in February and they'll be able to tell me how well I'm doing minus weight

I'm going to try a nose piece when I get a new one, until I hopefully can stop using entirely. I was advised not to because I tend to have a stuffy nose and breathe through my mouth when I sleep. But the full mask sucks balls.

Good luck on the next sleep study, you've been making great progress... I have a feeling they'll give you good news in February if you continue on your current course.

Good news is it's still bad. I get disability from the Army for it. I NEED this apnea. At least for a night.

12/4

Squats: 3x5
Bench Press: 3x5
incline bench press: 3x5
BB curls: 3x6
dips: 3x5
shrugs: 3x10
face pulls: 4x20

had an easy day at work today so I didn't feel spent by the time I hit the gym. Felt pretty good today. Gorilla glue was a terrific PWO and gave me good focus. Went belted on squats today but grinder out last rep on last two sets. Bench felt good but still feels super weak compared to other lifts. Everything else went good. Feeling more beat up so I am nearing the end of beginner progression.

My my choices are to either up my test dose finally to a blast level, possibly add in another compound, and try to squeeze out a few more weeks of quick progress at this high rate or switch up my programming to something dual factor that manages fatigue better for intermediate training. Either way I only have very limited time with this programming so I'll take a quickly deload week, drop some fatigue, and jump into something more PL specific.

12/20

Went ahead and attempted some maxes in kinda mock meet fashion. No peaking, no deload, minimal psychological arousal for the max attempts, and only about 6-7min between attempts. Just wanted an idea of what I'm hitting.

Squats and bench felt great. Deadlifts were weaker than I expected but whatever. Will be starting a round, Maybe more, of Sheiko.
