Ulikely. Hes a PL. So he likely loads up an ez curl bar with twice the weight his body can handle and uses his legs, chest, back, and jumps in to each rep with a violent swing to ensure he completes each half rep.

No PL would ever be seen lifting light weights. Even to their detriment :)

*action figure also sold with goatee, leather lifting gloves, gunz and roses bandana, obscene elbow wraps, invisible lat syndrome, big thick hips wrapped in skwaat briefs way too small for their body and of course the lifting chalk. Cuz every PL knows u need lifting chalk to bench press.

MORE ARCH MORE ARCH GODDAM IT

What do your weights look like in these sets? Not so much the absolute numbers, but whether you pyramid, and also how many non-working warm-up sets you do.

I'm using a very basic linear progression programming to gain some base strength back in the competitive lifts. I've been out of the gym for a little over a year so I've lost a ton of strength, otherwise I wouldn't be running This kind of programming.

There is no pyramiding unless you count warmups. Once I get to my working weight, I do 3 sets of 5. The next time I do the same lift, I add 5-10lbs.

For warmups, let's say I'm going to squat 315 for the day. I'll start with just the bar for a set or two of 5-10 reps. Then 135 for 5 reps. 185 for 5. 225 for 3 275 for 1. Then go to working weight of 315.

Edit* I want to reiterate, this kind of programming and increasing of weights will only work if you're a beginner or coming back from a long layoff. If you've put serious time in the gym and you're pushing decent numbers then there's no way this program will work for you.

Late but present.

Also, I like your split from what I've seen thus far.

Take that as you will haha

So many puns

I'll take it in my usual sexually deviant way hahaha.

The split is nothing special. It's modified starting strength by Rippetoe. Just something to get me back to speed as fast as possible. I'll have to switch up the programming once my numbers get closer to what they used to be.
