Does anyone smoke or vape? Had success quitting?

I was a heavy smoker for a couple decades and this is how I quit. Sides were bad but quitting was easy. You could blow smoke in my face and I didn't want it.
Within a few weeks of quitting fags for vaping I hated the smell of tobacco, hated smelling it in people’s clothes, their breath. It’s disgusting.

I come from a long line of hard alcoholics and quit within a year of suplementing testosterone. Really I only drank that year because it was a habit and I got nothing from. I would not recommend quiting alcohol if you have been drinking. I sank into a deep dangerous depression after quiting. Try getting a psychiatrist these days it only took me 3 years. They are just pill pushers to most but for some it's life or death.

The reason I say no to alcohol, rec drugs, nicotine is because I allow myself to choose only one bad thing and I choose Testosterone.
Just to add, nicotine itself isn’t really harmful to you. Everyone assumes it is because of the natural association with smoking tobacco. It’s just a stimulant like caffeine really.

As for vaping, there’s a fucktonne of propaganda & lies about it, much of it being pushed & funded by Big Tobacco & Big Pharma because the growth of vaping has battered the sale of both tobacco & med / drug based cessation tools. Eg the mass hysteria in the US a few years ago with people becoming seriously ill after vaping counterfeit THC products - it was the counterfeiters using Vit E oil instead of glycerine & propylene glycol as carriers that caused health problems, not “vaping” per se.

In the UK vaping has been actively encouraged as a healthier alternative to smoking by our health authorities, eg Public Health England stating that the research conducted so far leads them to believe that it carries just 5% of the health risks associated with even just occasional/ social smoking.

Hence why I have no plans in quitting anytime soon. I enjoy it …. So fuck it, the 5% is a fair trade off for me.

Every thing in America is just our politicians selling us out for pennies on the billion with the trillions we pay them in taxes every where. They freak everybody out about managed healthcare but we are already there. These fucking morons doctor work for the insurance companies not for the welfare of their patients but the money. I used to believe that it was an honorable profession to help people because I never had to got to the doctors till I was in my 40s. 9 out of 10 is a lowlife piece of shit.

This is the worst thing I've done in my life, started to smoke. Just can not get through the day without nicotine, literally loosing my shit over everything. Did switched to vaping a few years ago and sticking to it, but still a constant feeling of guilt is after me. Awful habbit and I hope, one day, i will get through it and quit it for good

Smoked for 25 years and the last 10 years smoked about 30 cigs a day. After covid I started getting winded after going up a flight of stairs . Dr diagnosed me with COPD after a breathing test. I had to quit .
Approach :
I would smoke anyway , but I just wouldn’t inhale the smoke . Made my brain think I was smoking but my lungs didn’t get any smoke . Thought I had solved the problem but Dr insisted “Nope you’re still smoking “. So after a month of that my body was my weaned off the nicotine and able to just slow the amount of cigs down until I finally just stopped . Been 2 years and it’s like I never smoked . My brain doesn’t even think about lighting up

I stick with smoking a tobacco pipe maybe 2 or 3 times a month.

Impact seems minimal at those levels.

I have zero urge to smoke at all, ever. So it does happen, now only if i can get other things like that too.

You guys before I got into running and weight lifting I smoked two packs a day. I switched to a vape 2.5 years ago and I can breathe again, also has no impact on gym performance. I’ve been slowly tapering down and using the lowest dose zyn pouches.

Wondering if anyone else is struggling with this as well? I hate that I do it, it does nothing for me. I quit drinking and drugs but this is the last vice I HAVE to kick.

If you successfully quit, what was your approach? I want to set my quit date for May 1st and help/tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

Semaglutide has been shown to reduce addictive behavior of all types, alcoholism, cocaine, daily pot use, even gambling.

Numerous studies published by the NIH demonstrate this.

One woman using Sema accidentally discovered that for the first time in years she was leaving her vape behind when going out without anxiety.

I'm convinced GLP drugs will be used in addiction treatment within a few years.

You can take a calibrated dose that doesn't cause weight loss but provides the other positive effects if you don't need it.

I used to smoke, and it was tough to quit, but I managed to kick the habit with the help of vaping. It's great that you're taking steps to quit, and setting a quit date is a big first step.

Enough anecdotal evidence to have warranted this study. Hopefully results will be published in a few months. I personally know people who stopped smoking, kicked their low level alcoholism and chronic weed use after starting.

GLP agonists target the "want" mechanism in the brain.

I've given up on quitting
Nicotine is actually fantastic for your brain and prevents neurodegenerative disease, while not being harmful at all in rational amounts. Addictive? Absolutely. Harmful? The opposite.

So instead of wrecking my lungs to get my fix, I made a 100mg/ml solution with 10% DMSO. One drop is 10mg. Put one drop on my wrist every couple hours while awake and I'm perfectly fine.

When I forgot the bottle last time I left town, it was equivalent to using one Mr fog switch/geekbar over 8 days.
