Does anyone smoke or vape? Had success quitting?

As someone who considered using nicotine as a PED, the primary downside is that it's a serious vasoconstrictor.

Nicotine causes your blood vessels to constrict or narrow, which limits the amount of blood that flows to your organs. Over time, the constant constriction results in blood vessels that are stiff and less elastic. Constricted blood vessels decrease the amount of oxygen and nutrients your cells receive.

It's a primary cause of premature facial aging, as blood flow is most affected in tiny vessels feeding skin. It's probably not good for the penis over the long haul either.

Find another stimulant like Modafinil that doesn't have that side effect.

After 20+ years of using (started very young) I’m nicotine free. Used zyn to “help” and that made the addiction worse than it’s ever been. Used zyn for almost two years. Had one in when I got married and had one in when I went to sleep at night!! Never been so hooked before

Quit cold Turkey a few weeks ago. Still think about them and crave them. I feel like it took almost two weeks for the withdrawals to subside. Did it at the tail end of a cut too which was extra spicy. Wife was thrilled

After trying semaglutide last year, and having used all fat loss aids like clen, t3 and the dreaded dnp. Smoking is by far the most effective appetite suppressant and the drug that made my cut easiest.

Clen gave me PVC, t3 jacked my appetite up and i can only stand dnp even at low doses for 2 weeks max. Semaglutide appetite suppression only lasted for a couple of weeks even at 2.5mg a week.

Smoking will kill my appetite the whole day, it made staying lean year round easier back then. I can have coffee with it in the morning, and have only 3 protein meals only on low days. If I feel hungry, I just light a dart and boom appetite is gone lol.

Nowadays, cutting to 10% is a goddamn challenge especially with my kids snacks scattered all over the house.

So then it’s not too late. Thanks for the response. I’m going to finish this tin of zyn as slow as possible and stop from there. Knowing how short of a time to get out of this helps a lot. Appreciate it.
How are you getting on with quitting mate?

Incidentally I tried 20mg Nic salt eliquid recently just for the craic & fuck me, I really felt the stimulative effects of that dose - couldn’t get to sleep for several hours & felt wired.

I’m stuck on 2mg nic gum roughly 8 pieces per day. I’ve made significant progress but it’s a long battle bro

Interesting, I just started tirzepatide

Buddy of mine stopped vaping pot after years of daily use. He said he used make sure he always had it with him, or he'd get anxious. Was leaving the house one day after starting Sema, saw the vape pen on the table, to his surprise decided it wasn't worth the effort to even walk over to grab it, and that was it.

I've heard lots of anecdotes like this, mostly about alcohol losing its appeal, even tiktok addicts giving it up...could be most addictions including food are stemming from the same "want" part of the brain being impacted by glp. Hell I suddenly lost interest in a relationship that probably wasn't good for me around the time of starting, I suspected it wasn't a coincidence.

This right here couldn’t be truer.

I had serious surgery on my neck due to paralysis in my arms - the doc who makes his living strictly off this surgery said it’s the nicotine. He also is now performing surgery on kids now that vaping is more prevalent - a surgery that usually happens in your 60-70s now becoming common place among teens. I was 34 when I had the surgery.

Your disks get very limited blood supply. There is no direct blood flow to them. Nicotine constricts that blood flow and your disks degenerate at such a high rate due to this. Being weightlifters and using steroids you want them disks healthy with all that heavy load bearing we’re doing to look good. I can’t squat anymore, have to be cautious of forcing my neck and if I don’t kick the habit guaranteed more surgery and if I do kick it still a good chance I’ll need more as every disk is fuggazied.

It such a bad habit and yes maybe you’ll be fine and I thought I would be but after only 3 years vaping daily I got screwed for the rest of my life.

I’m still trying to quit after surgery 8 months ago and smoke a little hqd disposable for like 10 mins a day and toss it. Slowly cutting the habit. Very hard cold turkey. Doesn’t help when your shite gf sits next to u chiefing it, she now an x. And I’ve been able to seriously cut down. Having all that stress with xgf, moving out, and surgery doesn’t help makes you want to do it but I can tell u it only causes you to be more stressed. I instantly feel a weight on my shoulders when I hit it and become lazy.

Hope your surgery went well. Had multi level cervical disc replacement myself when it was still experimental in the US, with paralyzed arm as well, so I feel you brother.

I wanted the disc replacements but got ACDF instead which is a bit out dated but unfortunately for me I couldn’t go that route. Would have been nice.

Hope it’s working well for you.

Like it never happened, 100%. back to normal. I had to fight like hell to get it, like I said wasn't even approved yet, but submitting myself as a subject during the medical trials made it so cheap the insurance company went along with it.

I use to use DNP too before Tirzepatide. Damn that stuff made me lethargic and starving! Like I could not control my hunger back then. I woke up one morning on DNP to spilled jelly beans all up around me under the sheet. Doors and windows wide open in middle winter.

It affects everyone differently. Check out threads over at ProMusc, there are lots of vets and even pros who use it to get shredded for shows or beach ready. It is just but another tool.

I hear you on lethargy though hence when I used it I can only do it for a couple of weeks max, however it’s still better than having higher resting heart rate from clen or semaglutide. This is just my personal response though, everyone is different.

When I used to smoke, coffee and cigarettes, was the best combo.
The first one, in the morning, that really hits your lungs, was always great.
And it's true, you put that in your mouth instead of food.
But then you get on a bike and you want to die.
Heart and lungs get so damaged, you can hear yourself breathe so badly.
I enjoy riding more than smoking, so I would not go back to it.

Smoked for 3 years non stop 15-20 cigs per day during my teens. Tried quitting few times during that time, lasted a month one time. One summer I worked at construction, I was tired of smoking and it was draining my pockets. One dude asked do I smoke and I said no and it was that moment I knew I either hold my word or fuck up and be a liar, so it happened I didn't smoke the whole summer.

Then later on I relapsed and smoked for half a year and then quit again, it was quite easy.

Later on I smoked few weeks on then off for half a year or so, until few years ago I decided to try cigs again after not smoking for a year. Shit made me so sick, my blood pressure was sky high and I had massive headache every time I smoked a cig.

I tried switching to vapes, but that crap made me sick AF. So I threw it in the drawer and it's still there.

It's been 3 years since I'm nicotine free and I don't miss it at all. Makes me sick to remember. My blood pressure goes up thinking about it. Besides cigarettes are disgusting.
What I said above stands true. I have tried smoking cigs recently made me very sick, it felt like my blood pressure is sky high and that taste in my mouth was disgusting like eating burned food. I use vapes sometimes but very rarely when I go to party and drink alcohol gives me more high without overconsuming alc they're convenient and cheap, I buy disposable from gas stations. Other than that I'm smoke and nicotine free over 3 years straight.

I've always assumed social pressure gets people to smoke cigarettes long enough to become hooked on nicotine. I can't imagine anyone tastes that nasty crap the first time and thinks "this is delicious, let me have another".

I have smoked regularly before in my life. The taste wasn't that bad back then when I first started and I actually enjoyed smoking and the whole ritual process of it. Social aspect might be true too, but I truly liked it. Once I started training and dieting I made a choice to quit it for good. Those two hobbies can't stay together in my life. It was fun while it lasted, but I don't miss it either. Now life is much better.
