As I mentioned earlier any first comer to a Blood Bank will have a slew of BASELINE tests conducted the majority of which, unlike those we pay for in the Docs office, are essentially owned by that blood bank, and notwithstanding a "need to know basis", are only released at the Labs discretion.
So although a few exceptions exist once DONATED, blood or blood products are owned by the BLOOD BANK!
Nonetheless, since a Hgb is a "point of care" BEDSIDE assay, the results are available in minutes, which is not the case with Fe at present
In addition bc serum Fe can be NORMAL in those with acute blood loss or "anemia of chronic disease", theres no way blood banks would be substituting (Fe) analysis, for one that provides a very reasonable estimate of blood volume (Hgb) at a VERY LOW cost!

I would love to hear your opinion on this whole young blood harvesting for old people thing.
If they are suffering low RBC and low BP, it would certainly help I assume. I'd love a quick little breakdown from somneone who knows what theyre talking about though.

This is an easy to read evidence based scientific review site I'd strongly encourage Meso Mates to use as a baseline to reflect upon when confronting media miracle cures, thoughts, idea's, or in this case the application of parabiosis "research" to medical therapeutics, humans in particular.

I've got a 21G Terumo wing infusion set and 60 ml BD syringes. The blood bank denied me permanently because I lived in one of the countries on their "no" list for 15 years. Last time I was able to let go off 120 ml and felt better immediately; however no significant drop in my Hct, Hg, serum iron or ferritin levels.
Going to try again tomorrow...hopefully 180 ml this time
Did you give it another attempt?

Yes @MisterSuperGod I did and it went well. The winged infusion set made things a lot easier and I was able to pull 250 ml. The terrible itching stopped - I felt very sleepy and dizzy the next day. I think it helped. Will do another blood test in a month.
Just donated myself and flat out asked what the cutoff is for hemoglobin and it's 20. Anything over a reading of 20 and they won't take it. This was red cross , the place I donate my tainted steroid blood so the elderly can be strong again.
Also, for anyone with kids, make sure to wear cargo pants so you take 20 bags of snacks with you when you leave. They're great for the kids lunches and it'll save you a few bucks to put towards more gear. This way you can inject more shit and donate a higher amount of gear to those who need to get stronger to recover
