Because it is a gay franchise chain. It's like a Planet Fitness that allows grunting. The good part is that when I divide the amount of hours I spend there by the $20 a month membership fee, it works out that it costs 22 cents an hour
Nice! I was lucky to find a great gym here that's only like $27 a month. However, they have all sorts of tantalizing treats and supplements there, that my bill seems to be far north of that. Oh, and they also sell clothes that the lady loves, so, yeah, my monthly bill gets out of hand sometimes.

I pay $30 a month.....and it fucking sucks, sucks bad. No one takes care of anything. One machine has been broken for fucking months...months. The dipshit that manages the place never does a fucking thing but sit on his ass jacking off to farm animal sex on the interwebs.
And the only treats are $2 bottles of water or Gatorade or $4 bottles of Muscle Milk....that's if the machine is working. They put in a water fountain and it was broke the next day, that was also months ago.

Mine is a BB'ing/PL'ing gym.... They are always fixing shit and replacing pads, handles etc.
Rule no.1 : Find where the biggest guys are working out , that's the best gym. In any town .
That's what I did. Not the young big guys, either. They know how to cycle, but not train for the long term. The dudes at my gym are the mid-90's BBer's, that's some solid knowledge there.
If you live near a Metroflex, I would always encourage looking into one of those. Also, I can't remember what Gold's has changed it's name too, but that's better than just a shitty 24Hr.
