That little plunger tip that you see protruding in the syringe takes away volume and your dose includes what’s in the needle hub.
But you can’t even get everything out of the needle hub when you inject which forces you to do the airlock method.
Which is what made me realize that dead space is actually not accounted for in your dose.
I drew to .8 pushed back in so it would go to .5 exactly ( with oil in needle hub)
Took syringe/needle out of vial. Drew air bubble( just enough so what’s in the needle hub is released (dead space)
Flipped the plunger upsaid down so air bubble goes to top and then pressed plunger back down so needle hub would be filled with oil and ready to inject.
To my surprise it now was only filled up to the .45ml line with air bubble line at .5ml.
I’m not using those needles anymore. 2023 and they still can’t figure it out.
Sol-M needles are the only fixed needles like insulin syringes that come in 1inch 1.5 inch 5/8 inch 1/2 inch with 23g 25g 27g but you can’t buy them for personal use only medical stores can buy them and no medical store Carrys them
How fucking hard is it to make a needle that gets your proper dose ?
Might just switch to insulin syringe and try my delts. At this point and ditch my 23g 1.5 inch
