Epidemic of Poor Lifting Technique

Powerlifters follow a plan, they execute a set based on RPE or RIR and call it a day. They're not doing unnecessary stuff, they don't do AMRAP's after their triples unless the program calls it.
You'd be surprised. Anyone who trained with a Westside crew, specifically Chuck Vogelpohl and/or Dave Tate or Louie himself will tell you otherwise. Speed days turning into pissing contests and who gets to fuxk the other up first.

Of course those are exceptions to the rule but they do exist.

Westside and conjugate training is an outlier in powerlifting but current powerlifting is following a certain plan to the T

Westside and conjugate is the golden standard not an outlier. The crazy mf that build that were the outliers
from what i'm seeing conjugate isn't a big thing anymore not where i live anyways and same goes for powerlifters i see online i don't see much conjugate training being done anymore. not saying that conjugate is bad or inefficient or whatever you want to call it. Westside guys were MONSTERS for sure

Not a monster but I've been doing some variations of Westside since 2012 or so.

I like it better than typical bodybuilding split routines. Personal preference. Plus a lot of wiggle room is built into Westside so you can include movements you like or to build up weak body parts.

there def is a lot more variations to every lift in Westside so that contributes to the fun factor of doing lots of different things while with the standard note book powerlifting stuff it feels so restrictive only do xyz anything else is a waste of time not that it is a waste of time just how they make it seem
