"BAGHDAD, Iraq, May 28 Iyad Alawi, known for his close ties to the Central Intelligence Agency, was chosen Friday to be the country's interim prime minister when the Americans transfer sovereignty here on June 30.

Known for his secretive style and high-level political contacts, Dr. Alawi was until late this week regarded as an unlikely choice to lead the country's interim government. As a longstanding recipient of C.I.A. financing, Dr. Alawi is likely to face sharp challenges to his credibility among the Iraqi people."

Say, I have an idea, why not appoint Ariel Sharon, the Prime Minister of Israel, as the new PM of Iraq? I'm sure that would get the U.S. lots of support from Iraqis.

Better yet, why not lay pictures of Mohammed the Prophet on the floors of all the major mosques in the Midle East, line up thousands of U.S. servicemen to take dumps on the portraits, and run the videotapes every hour on the hour over Al Jazeera, the Islamic CNN?

How long do you think it will take before decisions like this will persuade Islamic suicide bombers to take out every major intersection in every major city in the U.S.?

I'm beyond knowing whether to laugh or cry about U.S. policy in Iraq. Is everone in the White House slack-jawed, cowardly, lying, draft-dodging, rich-fuck morons like George W. Bush; or pious psalm-singing, fundamentalist, megalomaniac hypocrites like Herr Von Rumsfeld?

Is it any wonder that working-class kids from places like Hoboken are getting picked off like flies in that armpit of a country?

Which decision was it that prompted the embassy bombings? Was George Bush and Rumsfrld responsible? How about the Cole bombing...Was the current administration responsible for that one? How about the TWO attacks on the WTC? I hate to break it to you, but there is nothing we can do to make them hate us any more than they already do.

P.S. There have been no further attacks since 9-11-2001. Does Bush get any credit for that or is he only responsible for an attack that hasn't happened yet?

the attack on 9-11 was planed way before bush entered as our president, he got the bad deal but has done a damn good job in my eyes, no one knows when there will be a attack but the people behind the attack.
