With the mounting evidence of where and how the virus spreads along with case & severity demographics, universal public mask policies are nothing more than a tool of compliance conditioning, dehumanization and hysteria reinforcement.

It would be one thing to mandate N95's for certain scenarios, but the bandanas, cloth masks and neck gaiters are basically worthless and the way most people use, re-use, touch, cross contaminate surgical masks negates any minor benefit they may have. You know it's all a ruse when bandanas and N95's are implicitly on the same level for use as a pass to access society when obviously they are not.

Eh, as retarded as it seems just the visual helps people mentally get through it. I'd like it if everything was handled in a manner that went along with what science is telling us, but we're just human and can't seem to figure the easy shit out for the life of us

I use a mask when required. I'd consider wearing one if it made a certain person feel more comfortable, but not everyone. It makes me chuckle when I see people walking down the street with one and no one's around. And I snicker when I see someone alone in their car wearing one.

So you work around sick people all day and then walk around with no mask on in public while off work?

I know you are looking for a shock factor with your post, but you conveniently left out the part where I wear a mask all day at work and wasH my hands hundreds of times.

Yes. Same as millions of other frontline workers around the world. Keep your hands clean, keep them out of your mucous membranes, and you will be just fine.

The problem is most of these people wearing gloves and masks everywhere don’t understand what the gloves and masks are even for. They are not a magical germ killer. Whatever your gloves touch gets transferred to whatever you touch with your gloves.

I saw a man pull down his mask to sneeze out in the open (dumbfuck #1). I saw another man pull off his mask and bite the tip of his glove to pull his glove off (dipshit #2). I saw another lady delivering someone elseS food while texting on her dirty ass phone with the same gloves on (dipshit #3).

@puckhog

I wasn’t looking for any shock factor. In fact I admire what you do for a living. In fact I can understand that you of all people would get pretty sick of wearing a mask since you wear it all day at work. I just can’t comprehend the fact that a mask keeps you safe at work. So safe that you are confident that after working with infected people all day you can mingle with the population and be confident you aren’t sharing any viruses with anybody? If that’s the case masks work and should be used when in public.
Surely someone that chose to care for others at work cant just take off the scrubs and say “fuck a mask and fuck everyone around me”! I’m off work.

also, the common flu has killed more people than covid and no masks are ever worn while taking care of those people. You know what works for that too.....wash your fucking hands and keep them off your face.
How do people in your line of work feel about flu season coming up? Is there talk about people getting covid and the flu at the same time?

are we talking yearly totals or just in the past 6 months? Because I'm curious to see the stats on that

I’m interested in that data also. I was looking around and found a graph of the American annual death rate. 2020 is already at 8.8% ( up from 8.7 in 2019 ) yet 2020 still has 5 months to go?

For the record I’m not trying to fight about this virus. It’s just a mysterious virus to me and others.

That’s the thing I worry about also. This virus doesn’t seem too bad but coupled with other health problems it seems to be the “straw that breaks the camels back”.
I’ve been living like I’m going to die today for 40 years. Still live that way. I’m just looking out for my kids and my elder family members.
