hey dbpress, who'd thunk it bro. we have soooo much in common... lol... my favorite bands are also soundgarden and alice in chains. cornell is the premier rock vocalist, bar none. he also has some pretty cool pop vocal chops as evidenced by his solo efforts. the guys is truly incredible.

i saw alice in chains at the cat club in '90 in nyc, front and center as there were no seats in the venue, before they reallly broke out and, let me say, it was one of the best shows i'd ever seen. i just got goose bumps as i got a flashback of staley singing a scorching rendition of 'love hate love'. oh maaaaan.

aaah the memories... they just don't make 'em like they used. :D

Alice In Chains easily my band of the early 90's.Better than Nirvana or Pearl Jam in my opinion.I hate they didnt produce more albums.Sawem live awesome.
Janes Addiction same thing they just didnt produce enough albums.
Marilyn Manson I've seen live 3 times so I must like him.The mixture of anger and sex.
Of the new bands Soulfly Audioslave Disturbed The Vines Linkin Park are my favorites.

pats, i have cd's of jerry playing real killer music. one of the best is the 'pizza tapes'. it's a bluegrass recording of a jam straight off the board featuring jerry, dave grissom and tony rice. holy shit!!! killer stuff here. killer playing and superb sound from true virtuosos.

but the dead. i don't know bro. i too was on 2 hits of acid (snoopy blotter from back in the day) and i love the blues and the audience participation but they just sucked so bad. and you can't really expect the argument, 'hey the sold a lot of seats and records' to fly. i mean just look at milli vanilli, for example...

Its Dave GRISMAN. And yes, its one of my all time favorite recordings! Glad to hear that there is someone else out there that knows about Grisman and Rice!!

if i could create the worlds greatest band it would be....

Geoff Tate (Queensryche) - vocals
Yngwie Malmsteen - guitar
Randy Rhoads - guitar
Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) - bass
Neil Peart (Rush) - drums
