Favorite gym tunes. Head phones or no headphones.

Music eliminates all the other bullshit around me. The dipshit dropping 30s after he’s done curling, the guy slamming cable row reps into the stack, the fitbitch in the corner blabbing to the dude who’s trying to bone her, the shit soft rock the gym plays. I typically listen to music I know well. The only time I’m off my headphones is when the powerlifters at my gym are crushing it that day. Can be motivating and really improve the atmosphere in the gym.

Current headphones are SkullCandy Crushers for the full “don’t fucking talk to me” over-ear effect.

Architects, Bury Tomorrow, B4MV, 5FDP, All That Remains, Asking Alexandria, etc.

When I’m in the mood for hip/hop rap it’s the old 50cent/gunit stuff, some new Eminem tracks, Kendrick, Pusha T, TI, DMX.

The best training I’ve ever had was at Metroflex in Houston: no AC, shirtless, graffiti’d walls, heavy weights, and a giant sound system cranking metal.

Exactly my kind of music

I used to love back in days my old gym : big speakers old school hip hop - we pushed hard ... these days my gym play some silly music . When I do cardio I wear earphones and mostly listen progressive electronic music

Black Sabbath, no headphones.
I lift at home though.

I like Ronnie James Dio as the front man for Sabbath better than Ozzy but Snowblind and Children of the Grave are great with Ozzy.

Headphones for sure. Too many people want to talk and bother me when I'm trying to pick heavy shit up.

Here lately I've been binging on:

Traitors
Abominable Putridity
Lorna Shore
A Wake in Providence
First Fragment
Shadow of Intent
Aversions Crown

Sometimes I'll throw on some good ol' instrumental metal as well (Widek, Wide Eyes, Sithu Aye, Polyphia etc.,).

Pretty much anything under the metal banner.

Gym is usually empty when I'm in, so I've got it all to myself.

Most of the time I dont listen to anything actually. I'm not at all externally motivated and I like just going with the silence.

If I'm in later in the afternoon I'll sync up to the sound system. Lot of old Rollins Band, Mother Superior, Black Flag, Minor Threat type stuff.

On the other hand, sometimes I'm just looking to get lost and go high rep. So its straight up Motown type stuff.

I use headphones myself. The gym I work out always has to play some god damn dance music to appease the fitness advocates and girls,, which I hate like hell. God forbid they play heavy metal music for bodybuilders:eek::eek:.
But apart from that bullshit aspect of it,, I do like all the classic heavy metal and rock music. Groups like AC/DC, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin, Nazareth, Rolling Stones, Motley Crue, Iron Maiden, Krokus, Metal Church, Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N Roses, Lynryd Skynyrd, Van Halen, Scorpions, Cinderella, Billy Idol, Motorhead, Helix, Poison, ZZ Top, Blue Oyster Cult, Twisted Sister, KISS, Quiet Riot, RATT, Def Leppard, Supertramp, are just a few of my very many favorites I like to listen to

Same here. Dont even notice music when I'm lifting. Everybody, I mean everybody and their mother wears earbuds, headphones at my gym. Go to ask if their done with a machine or bench and get no answer when they walk away? Guess what? Its mine now. Plus, I listen to music all day at work just waiting for my phone to ring.

I work out without a partner, so ear buds for me at all times. I listen to anything rock/ metal and some old school rap. Too many dudes at my gym that probably brag about working out for 2.5 hours, but they stand around talking for 45 minutes. Music motivates me and improves my intensity

Hard days
Oceano
Thy Art Is Murder
Suicide Silence
White Chapel

Less hard days
Rage Against the Vagene
Tool
Rush
Perfect Circle
...even some Boards of Canada
