Favorite Meal

So the Cuban Ropa Vieja is delicious

I did it in the pressure cooker for an hour

Glad you enjoyed it brother, I throw it on top of pretty much whatever carb I am allowing myself that day, most of the time Quinoa or Couscous.

Thinking about throwing a diced jalapeño in the mix next time for a little heat.

If you dont mind me asking, why dont you eat rice anymore?

Protein:
Rice ~4g
Couscous ~6g
Quinoa ~8g
Oatmeal ~10g

Carbohydrates:
Rice ~45g
Couscous ~37g
Quinoa ~34g
Oatmeal ~27g

The couscous has to the white Israeli version for these nutrition facts, the Moroccan I think has the same amount as rice.

Basically I can eat more volume of the other 3 grains, and I get more protein and less carbs per cup. No other reason besides that.

eat these all day every day, chicken, fish, or steak. change up beans, change up rice, random can of veggies.

sometimes I shred the chicken in a crock pot. bone appetite.

Instead of using water to cook your rice, use bone broth. It will increase protein and flavor dramatically. It has other benefits but those are the major ones as far as macro profile.

I like couscous too... I can eat a ton of it.

That is such a good idea, thank you!

Right now I'm really liking a traditional Greek Cretan food, it's called ntakos. It's tasty and macros are good for a snack.

Ingredients in case everyone is interested are:

  • Tomato: 120g
  • Feta Cheese: 50g
  • Olive Oil: 5g
  • Dried Barley bread: 60g

And macros are:

  • Calories: 332.6
  • Protein: 10.7
  • Carbohydrate: 44.4
  • Fat: 11.8
I usually eat it alongside with turkey slices to increase the protein content.
