I injured my back approximately January of last year (could have been December), never saw doctor, never had x-ray or MRI. At the time I was in a place where I did not have access to adequate healthcare. I don't think I slipped or herniated a disc though. I believe I tore (not a complete tear) a ligament in my back. I had pain on the right side of my lower back. I also had sciatica running down my right leg, however, it only went down from the lower back to my knee. Sometimes I would have a radiating pain mixed with a tingling sensation that ran down my lower back, down my ass cheek, to my leg, at other times, it would just be an irritating tingling/tickling feeling (kind of like RLS). I would massage the area and it felt like a mini orgasm, it was weird. I also had weakness in my lower back, I couldn't lift 95 lbs off the floor, and when I would bend over it took effort to straighten back up (I can't really explain it but you know how some older people bend over and then have difficulty straightening back up). Some times I would like tweak it and it would hurt to even breathe and take like 5 minutes for me to roll over in bed.

It took about 4 months for me to get back to lifting weights and I was fucked up. I felt like I was walking on a slant most of the time and my lifts sucked. After about another 6 months it got even better, and as I kept lifting again my back started to get better and better. After running a cycle my back felt much better. I was still having issues though up until maybe last month. But since I been on cycle again my back feels stronger than ever since I injured it. I have switched over to sumo deadlifts as it was conventional deadlifts that caused the injury (though it was probably bad form, but due to my body structure, conventional deadlifts feel awkward and puts too much strain on my lower back).

It took me about a year to recover from my lower back injury, and I still don't feel 100%. My squat is finally back to where it was before I injured my back and I think I am actually getting better depth. My deadlift is getting there, but honestly I don't think you can lift as much sumo deadlifting as you can conventional. I hope nobody has to go through this horrible, long, painful experience. I had no access to adequate healthcare at the time and no access to narcotic pain medication (which I dearly needed). Back injuries are horribly painful and take forever to heal. Honestly, maybe if I had ran a cycle as soon as I started lifting again, maybe I would have recovered faster. I didn't cycle for about 3-4 months after I started lifting again.

I think AAS will help build and strengthen muscle surrounding the injured area (unless the injury is muscular, then the AAS would directly help heal it) which will in turn help compensate for the injured area, I do notice that it seems like AAS help with inflammation (I have a shoulder that bothers me frequently, but when I am on AAS I hardly notice any pain). These things just take time to heal. The reason I couldn't go back to lifting sooner was because of the symptoms I was having. Had I had some AAS and an opiate pain killer at the time, I could have lifted lighter weight and probably rehabbed it a lot faster. The only problem with doing this is you get to feeling really good, thinking your healed, you decide to load the bar and go all out, and end up fucking yourself up more. Physical Therapy is a good start, but after awhile your going to have to go back to the movements that caused the injury, perform the lifts with perfect form, and very light weight, slowly working your way up.

I have had minor injuries in the past and have used opiates and AAS to help rehab them. It is hard to lift weights when you are in considerable pain. You just have to know your limits in order to prevent further damage. Honestly, I don't want to recommend that other people do this because I don't want them to further injure themselves further. Also, narcotic painkillers are a temporary thing and usually I only use them during the initial injury, then when I feel up to the task, I use them only when I workout to help get through the workout. I have noticed the quicker you get back to physical activity, the quicker you heal.

How long did the doctor tell you not to squat or deadlift? Where there is structural damage involved you need to be careful, I believe a slipped disc/herniated disc can heal on it's own over time, but in some cases surgery is needed?

if you dont mind me asking what ugl was the tren? did u loose fat and gain muscle? i read the thread but it doesn't say anything about your gains. (strength+weight+body fat) i am just wondering because i am thinking about doing a tren + sust+ e.q.
