Oh hell yea...welcome Prairie Boy.
I've never taken a moose, are you hunting off the ground? .300 win mag?
If you take one this year you gotta post a field dressing/butchering pictorial ;)

Woah, you have a shit load of land; how much do you have? Did you grow up on a farm or just decide that was the path for you? Is that in NC?
welcome Rhynosaurus.
They are leases man ;)
You get some guys together and lease a big tract, develop the infrastructure from scratch is the cheapest but it's labor intensive. All the clear cutting for food plots, sight lines, trail systems. It's worth it but for other people they would rather lease something that's already been developed previously, or buy into a lease where they can just hunt when they want. There are many farmers that will lease hunting rights as well as long as you are respectful and don't interfere with the man's livelihood.

I'm on a couple in NC/TN, different counties have different regulations and variety of game/terrain. Been on a 500 acre lease in Ga for 10 years, swamp and dense ass pine scrub. Few farms on the florida/ga line, I dont even know how much land them boys are farming it changes all the time.

Boys send me $$$ for land lease/equipment maintenance/supplies/operating costs. I maintain the tracts closest to me, develop them, scout them. When them boys wanna come for a weekend they burn up the road and know everything is ready to go when they walk up. I monitor the cams and track movement so I can bring them up to speed on what's happening, who's bedding where, what field Bowinkle is eating in etc. They do the same for the leases they maintain, so I can roll up and they can bring me up to speed quickly. Working collectively like this means it's cheap, just a lot of sweat. In the long run though the hard work we put in let's us live a lifestyle that we would never be able to afford otherwise...we work hard, play hard, eat good this way.

Thanks.. I'll trade you for the 4 wheeler for a week??
I'm actually looking for an electric golf cart I can mount racks on to get in/out stealth, we grab these things cheap when we can find a steal. The problem is the tract I'm developing is so rugged that we gotta get some redneck ingenuity goin to get the damn thing around, I hope to find one and get it built by fall. Even with the lift and knobbys I think power may be an issue...Idk what we are gonna do bout that yet

Thanks for giving me the overview. I'm aware of deer/hunting leases but I didnt really know about farming and other such leases.
This is a view out of my window, so obviously a slightly different situation/lifestyle: http://i.imgur.com/T9mhsZU.jpg.
Much respect for being able to live off the land like that; must be nice to be out there, being your own man and doing what you do.

Just found this thread TEK no pics to show yet but ima dig some up. Hunting, fishing and diving ( spearing) my whole life, used to spear fish for a living , about 10 years actually.
