Freezing HCG in the pins; my last resort

After a fair bit of checking it seems certain that Pregnyl and Profasi are the only HCGs available over here in Aus and they only come in ampoules. Furthermore I cant find any source of bacteriostatic water here in pharmacies or on the web. No pharmacist has even heard of the term. So even if I could source empty sterile vials it would be no use.

Ive decided to make up the HCG in saline, preload 25 insulin pins and box them in the freezer. Ill just have to take my chances with the freezing. If anyone has a better suggestion, Im all ears.

I'm not sure I follow the logic. If everybody else stores their made up hcg in the refrigerator, why would you store it in the freezer?

BTW Bacteriostatic water is nothing else than H2O with 0.9% benzyl alcohol.

You have to put it together friend, product not coming in a multi use vial + no bacteriostatic water = immediate use or freezer storage only

From the Pregnyl insert:

COMPOSITION
PREGNYL contains 1 500 and 5 000 I.U. Chorionic Gonadotrophin per ampoule
Each 1 mL ampoule of Solvent for Pregnyl contains 0,9% m/v sodium chloride in water for injection

In short, both come with a bacteriostatic solvent and both are intended to be refrigerated.

Are these products dispensed in a different form in Australia?

The presentation for Pregnyl you have listed is the same as available over here. Note that the lyophilised HCG as well as the water come in AMPOULES, not multi use vials. Only 1ml of water is supplied and the storage instructions apply to product BEFORE it is opened. It has to be used immediately (I have a pack right in front of me).

The presentation for Profasi you have listed is unfortunately not available here. Thats exactly what I need.

Limiting my search to .au websites yields:

Storage
Keep Pregnyl in the original box in a safe place out of reach of children. Store as advised on the carton (2-8C. Do not freeze.). This can be done by storing in a refrigerator (do not freeze).

So it looks like it is available in this form over there as well. You may not have a problem after all.

BTW Although I don't know what freezing does to hcg, I do know what freezing does to water: it expands. Freezing water in a syringe would probably destroy the syringe.

I see (my previous reply crossed yours). Is the sodium chloride not a preservative, doing the antibacterial work of the benzyl alcohol? Ie can't you fill up the syringes and keep them in the fridge?

Does your HRT doc not give you any advice on this matter?

To be honest, I've seen a lot of AAS guys mix with sterile water, store in the refrigerator, and they were fine. But me? I would get some bac water.

Order the water internationally. Post a message over at steroidology if you need a legit company that will ship to Australia.

As for freezing hCG, it seems like the freezing would destroy the fragile hCG, but I have heard of a lab freezing their hCG on a regular basis without problem. But I certainly don't suggest it.

Saline is not a preservative in the way benzyl alchohol is. And no, it would be foolish to store a syringe in the fridge once it was opened and filled for up to 6 weeks, even if you were using bac water.

Swale basically IS my HRT doc through the info he provides. He put me on to a guy who runs a life extension clinic here which supplies the meds. But they are not the slightest bit helpful. They just charge me a lot for a phone consultations and provide the meds at a 50% markup. They know I don't have a choice so they just screw me. I have a local doctor who is willing to do all my bloodwork but she can't write me prescriptions for things like Arimidex and HCG, only the enanthate.

That might be an option if the HCG came in a multi use vial!
