You entire argument is wrong. Sorry to tell you, dawg, but homosexuality occurs in nature a plenty. It's well documented in most animal species. From rats to lions to humans. Sorry, your argument sucks major dick.
Sorry to resurrect this one, but I'm bored. Homosexuality does not occur in nature. My dog (male) sniffs other male dogs butts and licks their balls. Does that make him gay? Hard to ask that with a straight face. You can't project human ideals regarding sexuality onto animals. It's preposterous.
I'm not advocating the persecution of homosexuals in any way. I'm absolutely AGAINST a Constitutional Amendment banning samesex marriage. I'm perfectly willing to let the states decide as MK suggested. I will also say that although I do not currently have, I have had in the past a number of gay friends. I've been to gay bars with them. I'm not homophobic in any way.
However. To say that homosexuality is "natural" is beyond ridiculous. Since the begining of history societies of all colors creeds and religions have condemned homosexuality. Ancient Roman examples are useless as homosexuality was not advocated so much as ALL pleasurable pursuits were.
Traditionally, doctors have viewed homosexuality as an illness. It wasn't until 1973 That the American Psych Ass. declared that HS would no longer be considered a psychiatric disorder.
Additionally, there have been a number of books written on the effect that genes have on our behavior regarding addiction, HS, infidelity, etc. By and large what has been determined is that while it is possible to argue that genes influence behavior in a general sense, it is quite another matter to show that a specific gene...or pair of genes, or even a score of genes...actually control specific details of an animals responses to its environment. Does anyone know of a study where anyone found any stretches of DNA that affect specific behaviors predictably?
There are a number of diseases that are actually CAUSED by homosexual acts. Including IIRC bowel lymphoma, Kaposi's sarcoma, among other intestinal difficulties.
So, say what you want about homosexuals or the laws regarding them. No disrespect to any of you who are. I'm not saying for a certainty that homosexuality is a learned behavior. I'm just saying that "NATURAL" it most certainly is not.
