Gear review

Yeah, you don't want too thick or something that catches.

The knurling cuts my shins through these, but they're smooth and there's not much drag.

Do you think a good sock will be thick enough for all my lumps, that the bar doesnt get too caught up?
I assume your shins look like a fucking saw blade after all these years of deads lol.

I guess depends how lumpy your shins are. My buddy likes his shin guard socks. I have no experience with them. I worry about even pushing the bar out whatever fraction of an inch the shin guards would cause. Might not be a legit fear, I don't know. I'm fighting for every small boost I can get though.

Yeah, my shins stay jacked up and bloody. Mostly my right shin actually. I think it's because I always do right hand overhand grip and must very slightly pull that side towards my body. I catch right to the left of my right knee all the time too.

Pretty fucking lumpy
We used to think kicking fire hydrants and stop sign posts at full speed was the "Coolest" thing in the world
I'd smack 18 year old me in the fucking head if I saw him.

I just use football socks, I think they were from amazon or eBay

Worth a shot
I have the same fear as Perrin when it comes to any space off of my shins lol

Thanks brother

I used to be a goalie in hockey, which also meant goalie playing road hockey or outdoor rink without pads on. So I have fairly lumpy shins. I get away with SBD deadlift socks.

My only must have lifting gear consists of shorts, standard socks and high top chucks

One of the guys I lift with has thick calluses on his shins from grinding the bar on them while doing deads

I swear you can literally hear the bar catching / grinding his shins at times LOL

Wraped my self several times to get a feel for them. Find the much easier to wrap and just with bw squats had no problem getting to depth. They are more stretchy and I think that gives the potential for a bit more versatility. Will post a full review once I have some time on these.
I’ve had at least 2 or 3 workouts in these and they aren’t quite what I expected useful for regular training and rep work. I really had to crank the piss out of them to get anything from them. I definitely get more with these than knee sleeves but I don’t think these are really cut out for the heavy singles. I’ve got the TAITAN signature Golds and I squatted in them yesterday. Very happy with them, great balance of stop and rebound. May end up being my go to wraps.
I’ve got some Pioneer stuff on the way. Wrist and knee wraps, the Guardians aka “black mambas”. Also have the Elitefts Patriot knee wraps and some SBD Heavy 1m Wrist wraps to try out. May hold off on the wrist wrap stuff since I’ve got enough going on screw-in around with Knee wrap during my meet prep. I’ll get around to reviewing all of it before too long.

Picked these up too. Been having some pain in my bicep from bench and low bar squats. Ill see what these can do.View attachment 113907
How are these holding up for you? I’ve been dealing with elbow pain from low bar the past few weeks and while I’ve changed a few things, the elbow is slow to heal. It’s affecting other pressing lifts.

I used one on the torn bicep for a few months until it was mostly pain free. Also used the pair together on some heavy pressing movements for support. Definitely helped me get through it. The quality of the elbow sleeves is much higher than the ST knee sleeves IMO although I don’t use these as much as I do knee sleeves. Haven’t been using them much lately. Actually switched to just an elbow cuff for a while and now nothing but wrist wraps.

Just got my Donnie Thompson Formal Bowtie today... Will report back when I have something to report... hoping it helps with the shoulder mobility. Anyone have their personal review on it?

Honestly didn't really use it that much and kind of forgot about it.
Ahh ok, it was recommended to me in my thread a while back for some of the pain I had been having... I guess we will see in time. Looks like a habit of wearing it to be developed. I know the first time with it on yesterday my bicep tendon started to hurt, maybe starting to work dunno.

Cant comment on their wraps per say, I have their knee sleeves and love them. I was told pretty much what @Worf said and went with the Slingshot wraps used only once so far and happy

Ok glad I asked first lol. I guess I'll do more research. Never tried wraps at all
Me either, using them right now to overload my squats and they do make a difference. Debating if I want to compete wrapped or in sleeves now lol. From what I gather and others will chime in with better info, is that you want a wrap with either stopping power or rebound. The Slingshots seem to have pretty good rebound.

Good time for this discussion
Picking up some wraps this week and was eyeballing SBD
Definitly will go with slingshots instead.

Side note
Iron Bull elbow sleeves are my backups/travel sleeves
Really like them and the price point is excellent.

I wouldnt want to attempt a bench PR on them, but as an accessories sleeve, they get the job done
