20 units of lantus will not cause hypoglycemia. There’s no peak with lantus, as I said that’s one of the good things about lantus. The glucose lowering effect is slow and constant over 24 hours, and it can even be taken before bed if one chooses. Now if it was short acting insulin that’s a different story.
