I read Dune by Frank Herbert once a year for like a decade. Probably my all.time favorite sci fi. It is a little dense in the beginning however.
The main character takes badass space drugs, becomes a living god, crushes his enemies, and seizes power over the known universe.
Im still trying to figure out how to accomplish this on a personal level.
Started "We are Legion" last night. The first in the "Bobiverse" series. A hard sci-fi story of space exploration, and artificial intelligence. Only 2/3 the way through, but definitely worth the read.
I read, "The Three Body Problem" I think last year which had an unusual alien concept. The original trilogy was written in Chinese and had a lot of chilling stories on the communist revolution. It's also hard sci-fi, but the author tended to make up the stuff he didn't know, even when he could have looked it up. Still a good story, especially the historical aspect.
That's about all the fiction I've had time to read lately.

The empire of man is a dark place. The Horus Heresy arc is the best of the Warhammer 40K that I have read.
