This device works in theory, but in actual practice it needs a lot of maintenance. If you have hard water it will build up on the fins and need CLR or Lime-A-Way to remove. This product is rather a mixed bag according to the reviews on Amazon.

The only time this system might be a good idea is during the hottest day (s) of the year... There is a similar type of system, less gimmicky, that is used in Western parts of the US. I have doubts it can actually cut the electric cost by 35% though...

Something that will help though is cleaning the outdoor unit really well. Most homes have Central air that don't cool or heat the house very well because they have outside units that are dirty. Clean them out and you'll notice a difference if it was dirty... Same with car AC.

Not to mention plants growing in or around the unit or animals making dens/nests. I once found a skunk took up residence in one when I was helping my brother clean one out.

What da hell would you no bout ACo_O

Could not live without my central air. I always run hot. And my wife's brother owns an HVAC company. So he takes care of the maintenance. But I agree with the cleaning part. Have to keep the filters clean. And in the fall leaves get all over it. Have to watch it everyday.
