Guns

Get it. Its the most natural, easy pointing, sa out there besides a real colt. 357 is ideal for this sized frame. I have one and will never get rid of it
Right it is. That's what i wanna hear. I just wished i lived out in the dessert so i could take up the art of fast draw. That would be sweet. I'm totally in to precision shooting, but I'd like to do tue quick draw as well to mix it up.

Looking to suprise my FIL with a pair of engraved handguns/pistols. One for me. One for him. Just simple shit. Maybe our names on the guns.
Any services anyone here has used?
I've used Carl Bliele before. Not sure if he still does work for money or just teaches at this point. Best engraver I have had the privilege of owning ones work.

Shot my VP9 for the first time yesterday. Went into work late and had the indoor range at the end of my street to myself at 10:30 a.m.
I was very happy with it. The only handgun I'd shot in the last year was my shield, and it was a very nice change.
Still need to shoot the Aero AR-10 I put together. I've heard nothing but good about their products, and their customer service has been great to me. Hope it lives up to expectations.

Wish I could own. Got a felony 20 years ago. Not even a traffic ticket since. I'll never be able to take my kids hunting, shooting ect.

You may want to look up laws in different states. Certain states you can get it forgiven/cleared after so long depending on what it was to begin with.

You need to get a wife without a history.

That won't help. As long as he has "access" to the firearm he will be in violation. And risks getting wife with a clean record now a record after getting caught.

They make some pretty bad ass and deadly air guns. Can go boar hunting and deer hunting with those legally as a felon. They are not a firearm!

Also don't forget crossbows you can own as well.

Take the kids bow hunting or air gun hunting! Still great fun with a similar level of "danger" involved for the learning experience.

Nice. I'll look into it

Well, i know of many peoples who live this way. They go to shooting ranges and shoot as well. If you have a gun safe it's perfectly legal all the way up into the point you handle the gun at the range as long as there are trigger locks on the ride there and back and the wife is with you and she carries the keys. If she has the keys and you say you don't have the combo to the safe then you don't have access and it's not illegal.

It may very state to state but I believe muzzle loaders don't technically count either. Hence why you can mail order muzzle loaders but not cartridge firearms.

If its just for hunting between a bow and an airgun you can still participate just have to check state laws. Some states crossbows are banned in archery only season and air guns are prohibited for the use of hunting. Then on the opposite end Alabama and South Carolina will let you spear hunt a deer if you feel up to it.;)

As far as the wife handling locked weapons in your home, VERY dangerous practice because you do have access to the firearm, through your wife! I have PERSONALLY seen judges throw that excuse right out the window because in reality, we all know it is bullshit. I have seen this not work out well myself in court with a felon's girlfriend, let alone a wife. As far as people doing it and getting away with it... people get away with illegal things all the time. Heck, we are on a steroid forum! The risk is still there. Just be aware that what they are doing is still illegal, they are just not getting caught most likely.

My range here, the police have a direct link to the range and who is going there to shoot. When a felon goes there with his wife (even if she carries the locked guns), the felon then gets busted for a violation. Similar to stolen items being sold to pawn shops. There is a behind the scenes background check done that you are not aware of, until it's too late.

Stay safe all. If they want you, they will get you. Don't give them a reason to want you.

I've spoken to lawyers about it. They say that the law can't take away your wifes constitutional rights for something you did and that technically, that's what locks and safes are for. Not allowing access to the firearms to anyone that shouldn't. As far as the range, I've never been to a range that asks for id or your name. But, slightly off topic, the law is fucked up to say someone that has mad a mistake or 2 in their early 20's should have to suffer the consequences long after they paid thier debt to society.

I talked to people who had it in other persons safe safe as well. Despite what the lawyers told you, this guy WAS convicted.

If they want you, they will get you. Stay safe and good luck!
