this is first hand info - i seen it happen!
friend was on iv for 6 months = needed to flush line after meds were medicated - on mistake he pumped 5cc of air into his pic line (direct to the heart) and it didnt do anything.
not to say it couldnt have killed him, but it didnt! ambulance came and the parimedics sayed it would take 7 or more cc to definetley kill you 5 is a risk but not certain
