HGH General

Hello
Thanks for having me here.

Some HGH questions please. I understand there might not be any Dr in here, but I'd like to hear your thoughts.

I'm 57 years old, 175cm tall, fluctuate between 77kg - 80kg, and have been using HGH to try grow a bit of muscle and set me up for the years ahead.

I've been having bloodwork done in Thailand every 3 months to try be responsible, but I'm not sure about the Dr's knowledge?

My results have been

393 ng/mL using 4IU 1x per day upon waking.

Then 234 ng/mL using 2IU as above because he told me to halve the dose.

Then 341 ng/mL using 3IU as above because he said this level was ok.

My basic research tells me people are using higher levels and getting results?

Do you think the most recent 341 ng/mL is an effective level for effective muscle growth, or maybe the Dr is being very reasonable and keeping me close to range?

Any thoughts based upon your experience would be great.

Thank you

No worries. Here ya go. May also consider HRT with testosterone.
Hello

Yes. I spoke with the Dr about this, and began using (1ml /.250g) 2x per week and returned a test result of above 15.

I feel ok with the above, and know I have a bit of room for increase if needed, but was wondering more about what levels of HGH people are safely using.

I had no issues with 4IU upon waking, but am wondering if a split of 2.5IU upon waking and another 2.5IU at 4pm (2hrs either side of food) would be more beneficial.

Google is probably an ok source of info? But I'm thinking a forum like this would be more reliable?

Thank you

Well, at 57 your range is like 98-185 and you’re in the mid 300’s which is top range for someone 20-24. IMO splitting doses is much more beneficial.

Thanks for the info mate.

I've been a bit confused with the Dr paperwork Vs what I can research online.

He says my reference range is 132 - 310 ng/mL which is why I was thinking 341 ng/mL was only just over my age groups upper limit, so I might have room to increase?

Is there any reliable guide or formula which will tell me the upper limit compared against a person's age?

Thank you

Thanks for the above Info.
Now I'll have a browse through the threads.

Thanks again
I’ve been lurking on this thread but wanted to throw in that I think they’re good questions. I’ve done a ton of research and the obvious consideration of target level by age range doesn’t seem much discussed.

Hello mate

The charts supplied above seem pretty good.

Hello mate

The charts supplied above seem pretty good.
The charts describe values by age range. The do not describe what to expect in terms of results from achieving a certain igf-1 value. What does it mean for a 59 year old to have the igf-1 level of a 19 year old? What about blowing past it and getting up into the 500s? Would the level of a 30 year old be sufficient for general vitality?

None of this is captured by those charts even a little. It’s not simply a matter of “pick an age range out of a hat and target it” but if all you have is those charts then that’s all you can do.

Hello mate

This is why I was interested in asking.

The Dr I have access to is a bit vague on the topic. When he says my numbers were above average he seemed concerned, but I was definitely using a lower dose than others.

I've decided to up the level a bit, maintain my IGF test with the Thailand Dr and do a full once over here in Australia 2x per year instead on 1x

Wanted to ask if anyone knows a good dosing protocol to minimize water retention? I heard that if you start at lower doses and slowly increase the dose, you will have less water retention when you reach higher doses than if you simply started high. How often do you increase the dose?

Hello mate

I previously had wrist pain, which Dr Google suggested might have been fluid retention.

I reduced by 25% and about 1½ weeks later it was fine.

Then about 1 month later I increased back up without issue.

Most just go up 1iu every week. Personally I started at 3iu, and stayed there for about 2 months. I started 5iu this week and have had zero issues with water. I'm convinced any issues regarding water are related to poor diet and exercise.
