Hi there

Hi welcome to Meso. I'm a female starting my first cycle on var as well. I'm still doing as much research as I can. I'm thinking to run 5 mg (2.5 mg/2x a day) for 10-12 weeks.

Hey there! I'm also planning on running 5mg per day, but will bump up to 10mg per day (split morning and evening) if all is well after the first week. Aiming for an 8-10 week cycle.

I hope you decide to log experience as is love to read it! I definitely plan on making one myself. :)

OK ladies.. couple basic things we need to figure out...

Crystal 5'4 and 129lbs... that's naturally without any gear... yes I think you are about right to say you are probably in the 20%bf which means you have some abs definition showing through... although to be more precise, do you know if you are small, medium or larger boned? (you can figure that out easily with your fingers around your wrist... the basic trick - if you easily touch your thumb with your index or ring finger is pretty much small bone, the middle finger falls usually in the medium and can't touch at all is large... you can do precise measurements but I use this as a quick guide. Also, what are your measurements, where do you carry your weight? (measure shoulders, chest, waist, hips, thigh, arm)

I'll explain more once those details are up as that will determine the 'best' course for your cardio and diet (you're more then welcome to message me if you prefer to keep it private)

Now, var... well, females are able to use up to 20mg/day and yes splitting it into two doses about 6 hours apart is ideal due to it's short half life and you want to make sure you keep your levels stable. Based on your stats Crystal, 5mg is low, I would start at 10mg for the first 2 weeks. Var is very mild and you should be fine. My very first time with var was 10mg and it was great. My second run was 20mg and now I always run and stack it with other compounds at 20mg/day. I LOVE Var, it gives me some strength, beautiful hardness and that polished defined look with some vascularity. (so no jiggles anywhere) :)

Couple things may or may not happen, worse sides I've heard some of the girls I work with say that they had cramps in their stomach, sometimes sharp.... well, that simply means that you aren't drinking enough water (make sure you drink at LEAST a gallon a day) and your protein intake is too low, bump it up by 0.5g (so if you are calculating 1g per lb of your weight, bump it up to 1.5g, etc). Another is that your sex drive will increase and you may be more sensitive... this is a good thing really. The other thing is that you will find you need to shave your legs more often as your hair will grow faster.

Being in your 30's (I'm in my late 30's) you must watch your carbs, they are a lot trickier compared to when we were in our 20's.

Hope this helps a little :)

Hi :) couldn't help but read your awesome reply. It got my attention bc I'm going to be running my first cycle on Var as well.
27 yrs old/ 5'2"/ 108 lbs
I was considering 5 mgs (2.5 mg 2x a day). I thought the lower you keep it, the less risk of viralization. I was gonna take a super conservative approach. Now you got me thinking.... I want to be able to put on some mass :/

@GearGodess thank you for your input :)

No a problem, anytime!

For you as you are under 5'4 and based on weight possibly a bit more petite (and I really hope this doesn't come across as an insult to either one of you ladies as I don't mean it that way), and also first timer, you can try 5mg for the first few days or a week and see then increase. I truly think and experience I have with it from me and the ladies I deal with 10mg is usually a perfect start. Again, Var is so mild that you shouldn't experience anything crazy and unpleasant. Just make sure your diet and training is adjusted to it properly and you'll be fine.

As women, I found that we are more aware of our bodies and "feel" every little adjustment a lot faster. And honestly, sometimes what you read isn't what will happen to you and usually made out to be a lot scarier than it is. Now, if you're asking to take more than 20mg...then definately be prepared with some unpleasant things coming your way on a journey to manhood...lol

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your input. I will start with the 5 mg and then after a week or so increase it. I totally agree with you that us women are more in tune with our bodies, and We can def use it to our advantage when it comes to noticing small changes. I will be making a log and tracking my progress.
Thank you again :)

Hi,

I'm a female in my mid 30's and have finally decided to join after lurking here the past couple months.

I've been training on and off for the last five years (due to pregnancy) but have been training a lot more seriously the past couple years.

Diet is good although I haven't been tracking my macros in the last six months. I've gotten pretty good at eyeballing my food and knowing if I'm getting in enough protein, carbs and fat, for the most part. I do have a couple treats per week to satisfy my sweet tooth.

I train 5-6 times per week and switch it up between going heavy with less reps and high volume with lighter weight.

I'm planning on starting my first cycle and will be using Var next month. Still doing more research and going to start tightening up my diet again. Will definitely be tracking my calories/macros while on and after cycle. My goals are to put on more muscle while hopefully burning a little fat, like many others.

I'd love to connect with other females about their experiences and to get any tips and advice they'd be willing to share or give to me!
Hi Crystal. I'm Paul. Nice to meet you. We can definitely help you on your way to adding muscle and burning some fat. As you are aware diet is 90% of the battle. Careful with the AAS though. For the ladies a little bit goes a long way.

Y'all ever notice how the old guys always flock to the young females in the gym and starting giving advice?

Just today my girl came home and told me how some old dude told her to drink mineral water with baking soda. Lol what's real amusing is when it comes to nutrition not to many know more then my girl. She used to compete. Oh well let the old guys talk a bit. I'm sure I'll be that old pervert one day.

Wow, thanks so much for such an informative reply. I appreciate it very much and I apologize for just now getting back to you. Had a rough week with sick children in my household.

You're on the money because like you said, I do have a bit of ab definition showing through, and carbs are definitely trickier now than they were 5-10 years ago, haha. I'll admit, I do indulge in more than I should, but I will make sure to lower my carbs once I get started on my cut.

Based on the wrist measuring test, I fall along the middle. I've been on a long and slow bulk for the last 18 months and am happy with how things are coming along. During my last pregnancy, I lost a ton of weight, including all the hard-earned muscle I had previously built, due to being extremely sick for the first 6 months. So, I've been working hard to get it back, and some. Needless to say, thank goodness for muscle memory! My current measurements are: arms- 13", bust- 34", waist- 28, hips- 36 1/2", and thighs- 22". I carry most of the unwanted weight in my midsection. =/

The reasons why I want to start var at 5mg per day is because I'm terrified to get acne on my face or upper back. I break out a tiny bit in those areas when its that time of the month. I only get one or two, but they are the ones that are painful and take forever to go away. I'm also prone to getting headaches and I worry about getting them while on cycle. Other than those two reasons, I'm not worried about the other possible sides since I will be taking no more than 10mg max per day.

My hubby will be happy about the possibility of an increased sex drive and hopefully, I won't have to worry about shaving my legs since I don't have any hair that grows on them right now anyway, haha.

Thanks again for your help, GearGodess.:)

Me too. Unfortunately, I won't be able to start until the beginning of April. I'll be out of town for a couple weeks prior and won't have easy access to any gyms. I'll be limited to working out in my hotel room (hotel has no gym) and just feel like it will be a waste to be on cycle when I can't give it 100% as far as nutrition and training goes. If it weren't for that, I would probably be on cycle now.:D When are you planning to start?

I was doing barbell hip thrusters at 275lbs and an older guy came up to me after my set saying he was impressed but that I should be careful because I could give myself a hernia. LOL.

Not a problem Crystal. Well Var isn't known to give any acne. It is a very mild and clean steroid. You shouldn't really get any sides. If you do, please let us know as that's not a known side. At least I never heard or seen anyone get acne from var. If you get headaches (I'm actually prone to migraines) and I have never experienced one on var. It could be diet related. With var especially, if you stay hydrated and increase your lean protein intake, you should be more than fine. You will be strong fairly quickly and will develop a nice hard and vascular look. It should tighten everything. It will also preserve your hard earned muscle so you won't need to worry. So keep your diet very clean, training and cardio mean! :)
