How do you filter castor oil?

If you use a bottle top filter, how do you then get the oil into the sterilized vials without air contamination?
Ultra clean radius around your working area, no air movement in your working area, move slowly as to not disrupt any dust or skin particles on your body from flaking off, use a new batch of cheap lab scrubs when doing your transfer, wear a mask, cover your hair, etc. replicate what you see on TV when you see a surgeon working on a patient. Some of this is even overkill but mainly you don't want to disturb your environment dust and whatnot from blowing up in two year vials or sterile bottles. I've seen plenty of people use cheap large grow tents as it creates a bubble in your house that you can brew in and keep it much cleaner. Wipe down all working areas with sterilizing solution.

Ozone generator is a good idea too you can flood your area with ozone if it is a sealed tent inside your home just make sure after it's been flooded you air it out good and open windows in the house ozone sitting in your house is detrimental to your health It also reacts with humidity so if there's anything humid it will oxidize exponentially any equipment or anything humidity is attached to.

you over thinking this bud. Ive use 600ml bottle top filter on a 1000ml flask. Using a Hydrophobic PTFE membrane. Flow hood being present. After filtering i poor directly into a medial bottle and quickly cap. I’ve done this for approximately 2yrs before I moved on to more expensive set up. Without having no infections or sterile concerns

dunno if you stupid or just trolling, you said FLOW HOOD BEING PRESENT
I mean do you think we all have a flow hood at home?

The whole shit talking part isn’t necessarily. If you are brewing a little ass batch you can absolutely filter then poor into medial bottle and cap without a flow hood with no issue! Then use a top dispenser to dispense into each vial and quickly put stopper on and then cap and crimp.

I completely agree and for me you don't need a bottle top dispenser either (it's a pain in the ass to sterilize and it's expensive) Just 10ml sterile syringe, draw from the media bottle and fill the vial and quickly put stopper/cap and crimp.

I believe you are a seller or a source as you are not approaching this from a homebrewing personal use perspective. Hood flow, bottle top dispenser, those are quite a lot of money, from hundreds for top dispenser and thousands for Hood flow.

you are correct you can simply draw from medial bottle and fill vial and put stopper/cap and crimp that be much easier. Apologize for not approaching the conversation with Easier why explaining.

You are completely wrong you can get flow hood (diy) for less than 200$ and bottle top dispenser with adapter gl45 from Ali for 30$.

A DIY flow hood is not a certified flow hood (works maybe similar) but we were talking proper laminar flow hood.

A bottle top dispenser of 30$ is a shit bottle top dispenser buddy probably... What's the margin of error? Problem with bottle top dispenser is the sterilization, you need a pressure cooker or an autoclave, can't do dry heat sterilization

If you understand how laminar flow hood work you will understand that diy one is the same as one that cost thousands with certificates.
Cheap bottle top dispenser probably isn't accurate but for homebrewing it's ok. I don't think that most popular source here use better dispensers.
For sterilization you can use ANY pressure cooker ANY pressure cooker can resist 15psi I have cheap one Turkish with fine SS sheet and it work. Need stronger spring to not open pressure valve too early and work fine for caned food sterilization.
Last time when I homebrew, 12 years ago, everyone use pressure cookers for stylization, now it seem like people forgot about that.

Where you from? A pressure cooker in Europe that can reach 15psi cost at least 200+ euro. So not a cheap alternative.

I'll read more on DIY laminar flow hood, maybe I'll build one if I have the patience for it.

Again you don't need a bottle top dispenser when you are filling 10 vials for personal use, you can just use a media bottle with a septa and draw with a needle from it and fill the vial that way.

Hey @Sampei
There is a guy on the Opti thread who is asking about a vial of hgh he is not sure about.
He says he wants to bin it.
I have asked GreySpartan but he doesn't know.
Can you, please, have a look at the picture?
It's the third message before the last.
Sorry to bother you.
Thanks :)

I'm from eu. Yes I know most PC can't reach 15 psi "on paper", but you can modify weight or spring of pressure valve, install manometer and it will work forever.
Yes I do that, I filter my gear with glass filtration funnel with sand core and 47mm 0,22um filters and transfer it directly from bottle to vials, without any flow hood. But it's time consuming. Now I want to come back to cooking, but with flow hood and dispenser.

Tag me there damn it lol it's a lot easier ahahha than coming here and telling me to go there

Fantastic flow hood for 350 euro. It's a steal for the simplicity and quality of it.

A good not crazy good bottle dispenser it's 180 euro on AliExpress well worth it in my opinion compared to a cheap one

If you don't have time or skills for diy isn't bad, but you can DIY bigger flow hood for half of that price.
I don't think that 180e bottle dispenser is worth it for homebrewing at last for me it doesn't matter if I have 9ml in one vial and 11ml in another.

DIY is not straight forward and if you wanna do it one of quality instead of cardboard etc you are gonna spend easily around 200 euro.and you gotta do it right or it's gonna be not even useless but the opposite detrimental to your sterility.

Not saying you can't do it but for average guy if one can afford better buying something like the one I linked.

Yeah you are probably right about the bottle dispenser, I'm OCD tho... I would be very pissed to have 9ml in one vial and 11 in another. Max error I could accept is 0.5 and I would still be not very happy haha

food for thought

When they do open surgeries, there is a sterile field and no flow hood above the open body.

By continuously pumping sterile air into the room they create a "positive pressure" box preventing non-sterile air from entering.

Same as compounding pharmacies and pharma factories, clean rooms for chip and lens manufacturing etc.

Btw the cheap bottle dispenser for 30$ on AliExpress are not autoclavable, I just enquired it to three different sellers. So you gotta spend at least 150$ for the cheapest autoclavable one.

Paralysis by analysis... If you knew the shit that went on a couple decades ago you would be laughing your ass off with the whole I need a medical facility for homebrewing...

BD used to mix oil, solvents and raw and just pour it in open vials, not sterilizing shit in the process. Sold tens of thousands such vials. Put 5% BA and done lol!

Don't over-complicate. Bottle-top to sterilized glass gl45 media bottle. Screw gl45 cap with septa. Use a sterilized glass syringe or a regular sealed one with a long ass needle (sterilize that with your vials and stoppers). Have your vials with the stoppers (no cap) ready.Remove stopper, put 10cc there, put stopper back. When you finish all your vials, cap em and crimp them.

DONE.

Narta example of a long ass needle? the metal one you showed me is not good to pierce a septa, are there different kind? can't I juse use a normal hypodermic needle? yeah gonna have to turn the media bottle upside down but not a big deal.
