I am technically 25% Arab (still have family in Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, and other countries over durr..although the Syrians might be dead due to the war, I have no idea), but really it is all Italian genes due to immigration over time generations ago. I have like 2% of Asian in me. I am also like 2.5% Neanderthal, which I think is why my dick is shaped so perfectly. It's like a fucking nuclear torpedo, ready to make contact with its quarry and cause explosions all over. But mostly just "white". So what does it matter? I know there are some black and non-white people around here somewhere. Just the "regulars" apparently are mostly white for whatever reason.
Obligatory dick pick since I brought it up:
Rap is pure toxic. "systematic oppression" is what they claim. How about not raising your kids to music about ho's, bitches, da club, raping, weed, etc. Rap is filth. Would never date a girl that listens to that garbage.
Just to be clear, I TOTALLY fucking agree with you. It is disgusting. Music and the pop culture kids follow has POWERFUL influence over their values in life. Kids that idolize rappers end up valuing drugs, money, bitches/hoes/thots, drinking, cars, ugly and gaudy (IMO) clothes, etc. My neighbors are two young black kids that are shitheads. They sell drugs out of their house, their mom doesn't seem to give a shit, they don't do shit, they don't mow the lawn, they don't shovel snow, NOTHING to help her out.
Now, even in a non-oppressed society, kids like that would have little to no chance of making a good life for themselves. They have gone down that hole and it's extremely hard to claw your way out. I actually used to hang out with a ghetto idiot, he was one of the most loyal friends you could get (he actually took a charge for me, we got pulled over and had weed on us and he was like "Gimme your weed man, I'll take the hit. You have a future ahead of you, I don't. Let me take it" and that motherfucker took the hit for me for an extra half zip of fire bud). Deep down he was a good person, but he was raised wrong and the people he socialized with were idiots, which influenced him to be an idiot too. You are the average of the 6 people you spend the most time with.
Parenting has such a huge impact on a child and how they grow up. But so does the school they go to. This is where systemic oppression starts. Non-white and poor kids almost always end up in shittier schools than the upper-middle/upper class white kids do. This means they don't get as good of an education, their schools often don't have quality computers, they have the worst teachers around, they have funding problems, etc. Then the kids look to get jobs and there is oppression there, they are less likely to get hired because they're black--because of societal biases and prejudices. Then, when they don't do as well in school because their parents never made them study or do their homework so they got shit grades, they are lucky to end up going to technical college. They never developed the skill/discipline to sit down and study, so they don't do that great. They often don't finish, or they finish with "meh" grades. Then they look for a job and they're competing against people who got bachelors degrees from universities and did well. They may get a decent job, then apply for a loan, but they get a rate that is higher than what a white person would get, because the algorithms say they are higher risk due to their ethnicity (that's just statistics for you, nothing racist about it, but it ends up having a downstream racist effect).
Even if a kid was raised right, did well in school, grew up to have good values and work hard, they almost always struggle more than white kids or even Asian kids do. If the interviewer is white, there will almost certainly be a subconscious bias against the colored person. White people struggle to read black people's facial expressions, therefore it makes them more difficult to understand and trust. This is why we need diversity incentives in workplaces.
But in the end, people NEED to give themselves and their kids a leg up. The intergenerational wealth of the majority of white people was built because our great and great-great grandparents worked their asses off and made sacrifices to give something to pass down to their kids. Nowadays, that is not happening with the lower-class people. Their kids are raised to have shitty values and dress like hood rats and be fucking retards, are often exposed to domestic abuse or drug abuse issues at home, and usually catch charges before they're outta high school (which is also part of the systemic oppression, as non-whites catch charges way more than whites do...let me tell you I have been let off with a warning or a ticket for some CRAZY fucking shit that would've DEFINITELY landed me in jail if I was black). It all compiles over their life to add up to the issues they experience. Then they want some kind of payback like they're entitled to it. However, even if there was ZERO systemic racism/oppression, there would still be biases against them because successful people don't like ghetto people! White or black or latinX or asian, ghetto people are looked down upon and it is BECAUSE of their shitty values. Yes, white people too. The term "White trash" doesn't come from nowhere.
In the end, as with most things, it is a two way street. Lower class people need to TRY to lift themselves up by their bootstraps. They need to shun
ghetto culture (which is NOT "black" or "African" culture) and stop listening to this shit rap music they are obsessed with. That's why I like the rap from the late 80s and 90s, it was empowering to black people, artists like A Tribe Called QiasThey need to take it upon themselves to learn personal finance, learn how to speak eloquently and concisely. Only once that is done on a mass scale will we have any chance of reducing/eliminating systemic racism. Because until then, society will just see a bunch of ghetto assholes trying to buy chargers or beamers they can't afford just to "look rich". White people do this all the time too, but yeah.
I make really fucking good money. I still mostly wear the same damn clothes I bought 10 years ago. I don't dress to get attention. I don't spend a bunch of money on basketball shoes when I don't play basketball. I don't buy fancy watches. I still drive the car I got for free from a family member
I experienced a taste of what black and other non-white people go through with the Police when I was down in Mexico. I got extorted out of $200 cash, and was threatened to be taken to jail. They were asking me if I had cocaine on me or marijuana or anything and I didn't. The guy say down and started fiddling with his handcufffs just to scare me. He REALLY wanted to lock me up. Thankfully his boss was like "nah man let's take their money and just let them go". So I got off because I had money on me, because I am well off. In the US the extortion doesn't happen, but the whole experience was really interesting (albeit fucking traumatic as FUCK, I had PTSD about it for several months).
EVERY country has systemic racism. The US just gets called out because it has
one of the worst wealth gaps in the world. This then compounds the desire of the ghetto/poor people to "look rich", when in reality they need to do the exact opposite!
Anyway, I am done with this now. But I just wanted to illustrate that systemic oppression IS REAL. I barely scratched the surface. I DO NOT think that the government owes all black people reparations, I DO NOT think they should be treated special or given preferential access to jobs or schools or anything. I just think everyone should be treated equally. Male, female, trans, black, white, asian, eskimo, I don't give a fuck who/what you are. We should have a MERIT based society. That is what our society claims to be, but it really isn't.
Note: this was a brain dump and it's super early and I am dozing off, so sorry if it doesn't make sense. I am not really looking to debate any specific points, just wanted to throw my opinion out there for people to read and hopefully think about things a little differently.
