How much can ya curl

Speaking of elbows, now I have this weird lump in my elbow from doing curls.

It's the circumference of a dime, pokes up quite a bit. It feels like bone, or maybe cartilage.

If I stop curls it goes down in a week or so. I hate not doing curls though, one of my favorite exercises.

I'll try the above recommendations less weight, more reps, ez bar.

Thanks @master.on and @DedLift

The bi's and tri's are the smallest muscle groups in the body and dont need extremely heavy weight to grow. What is needed is lighter weight with strict control, slower reps and strong contraction.

Everyone is different-depends on fiber type.
My tri's only grow with heavy weight, low reps. Over 20 years of training I've come to this conclusion . If I go above 10 reps with lighter weights, I get nothing, if I go heavy for 6 I get growth.

Same for chest-heavy, low reps work better for me.

Haha so not true for me but those 5 reps at 135 are nice and controlled I've stopped throwing weight around like a maniac a few years ago and I look much better.

I have bad tendinitis in my left elbow so I try to stay away from dumbbell curls and preacher curls. I've been utilizing standing low pulley cable curls, both arms at same time with 1 sec contractions. My bicep peaks have popped significantly since incorporating these into my arm/back day. I also prefer to do decline hammer curls. Both of these have less impact on my elbows and wrists.
As for weight I do drop sets of both movements starting in 70-65lb range.
So I'm not that strong but still have 18inch arms.

I'm a bitch and afraid to curl heavy. I feel like I'm gonna tear my bicep.

I had a popping sound last oct. Was on preach bench, scared the f out of me.
I was about 30% up(never straighten entirelyect) and somethingbwemt.
It didnt drop. I think tendon rolled?
Went to er
In pain.. Doc said after exam" if notva philly pitcher where not opening the mri at 1130. "
I saw his point cause next day better.. Took about 2 weeks to feel normal.
Never again heavy curl, scary sound and feel.

After partial ruptures to both bicep tendons (one from carrying something heavy into a house, the other from a 950lb tire flip) I no longer train biceps heavy at all. They never lost size either. It's all about light to moderate weights and maximum contraction for me

@Ironlord -- same here , I just dont grow on the high reps , plus I hate doing them .
6 reps and Under . Thats how I roll...

Here's a challenge for you, run the rack up starting with 5lb dumbbells x 5 reps, 10 lb dumbbells x 10 reps, 15 lb dumbbells x 15 reps, 20 lb dumbbells x 20 reps, 25 lb dumbbells x 25 reps, 30 lb dumbbells x 30 reps, and if anyone makes it to 35 lbs I want to know. Go straight through with no rest. My best is getting to 35lbs x 7 reps, that's all I got!!! It's a living hell
