How much effort do you put into training your biceps?

Since I read Yury Belkin's interview about his training, I gave up working on my shoulders, biceps, back and tri...
I am trying to get better at the SBD so I only train those movements.

Same with me for the most part.
But I'm extremely vain when it comes to my shoulders and Triceps.

I do typically.throw in some volume on upper back, as it's a weak spot for me

I swear I cant do 225lbs in any row variation lol. Shoulders are pretty strong naturally I hit them once every 8 months xD. 120LBS dumbbells press for shoulders are super easy any day lol.

Biceps are overrated. I lost one and the only time I miss it is dumbbell bench movements. I train solo but maneuvering those dumbbells to get in position sucks with no bicep on one arm. I can dumbbell curl a 60 though. Strange deal. Lol. As long as you are in the gym picking stuff up it’s all good.

Where’d it go ? Tore it off or what? Cancer? You pawn it for gear?

So the Dr just pulled it out? I’m sure it’s more complicated than that but sounds odd
Left it hanging. Common for a lot of older folks with this type of injury. It really shook me up but I started from scratch. Again. Total mind fuck but not a big deal after I got over the initial shock of it all.

I know you said you can still curl 60lb dumbells with no bicep (Which crazy)
But how does it effect your other lifts like DL or any back related pulls?

The only exercise that doesn’t feel good is pull ups.
But I must add my power rack has that pull up bar that has some different angled grips. Like an ez curl bar. It’s not straight. As long as I keep a neutral grip with my bad arm I’m good. @PerrinAybara helped me with that awhile back.

Makes sense
Straight bar pull ups FUCK my forearms and bicep for weeks after a heavy session.

I just close grip now to avoid the pain

That’s fucking crazy. You’re a tough sumbitch

I’ll throw in some barbell curls or hammer curls once a week just to get some blood flow but I put all my focus on my triceps concerning arms. I assume I’m not alone on this with people who primarily train for strength.

Ditto!...

What's the cost, and is it ever too late?
Don’t quite remember the cost but my doctor said the tear was so clean he wouldn’t have even suggested surgery. Many reattachments come with bad side effects if I remember correctly. Mainly due to bone chips and dust aggravating the elbow joint. And too much time had past anyways. If I remember correctly the best results from surgery are within around a week or so. Up to a month after injury is recommended. I may have some time frames and other facts wrong since it’s been a minute since the injury.

Makes me want to use 15 pound dumb bells only - better than tearing . . .
I wasn’t even training at the time of the injury. I was actually moving some decent sized stones/small boulders. I’m guessing around 100 pounds. Maybe more. Probably not less. But as I was lifting one I felt my grip starting to slip so I kinda tried to pick up the stone harder with that hand to drop my hand down to get another grip. When my grip locked on and the left bicep took the stress it just simply let loose. Didn’t really hurt. Just looked weird as fuck seeing your bicep slink up to your shoulder. Literally no bleeding/bruising like you see with a pec tear. Maybe a quarter sized bruise. Weird deal. Guess I’m lucky? Lol
