I need to find a "SWALE equivalent" in Crohn's Area

I have been trying hard to find a pioneer in their field of GI; specifically concerning Crohn's disease, but no luck so far. As some of you may know; my wife has just gotten diagnosed with Crohn's and undergone surgery. The GI specialist was too quick to prescribe her an "Immune Suppressor" that she'd have to stay on for a long time in order to maintain remmition. I asked him about Growth Hormone and other alternatives (Anti-aging medicine) but he dismissed them just like my Endocrinologist had dismissed SWALE protocol for me before. I was able to find a doctor that believes in SWALE's methodolgy and was willing to help me accoringly. Today; my delimma is finding the pioneer "SWALE Equivalent" doctor to help my wife. I do believe that some doctor out there exists and knows a whole deal about Crohn's that most mainstream doctors can't touch.

HELP PLEASE...

How far away are you from the D.C. area?

Not that far... about 4hours. And; if it's going to payoff we're willing to drive. I'm just not going to settle for anything less than best for my wife. Let me know who you have in mind.... and thank you very much.. :)

I can give the name of a very reputable md in the Washington / Maryland area who's trying to be creative about treating Chrohn's disease with new approaches, but I guarantee that he won't prescribe GH as way to treat Crohn's, which is the direction it seems to me that you want to go in, and I don't blame him. I'm not aware of any clinical theory that would lead one to suspect that GH is the solution.

greyowl... I am not seeking GH in particular for treatment.. I'm just looking at it as a valid option due to what I've been finding in my research. I am very open to all possiblities that your doctor in DC may suggest.. My request is not find a doctor to prescribe gh for my wife, but to find a doctor who's doing more than his peers in the field of this disease. I'm looking for a smart doctor equivalent to Swale.. Please let me know who this doctor is and if you know of what he's been doing differently in treating Crohn's. Or; I'll be happy to contact him myself.. Below is a few studies I found regarding gh.. but agin; I'm not hung up on doing gh and gh only...

Thank you so much for your attention.. :)

Swale-tail, these studies apparently suggests that GH might alleviate some of the symptoms of CD, and the side effects of conventional treatment, but there's nothing there to suggest that that they acutally reverse CD itself.

PM me for a doctor in the Wash/Maryland area who's trying new approaches to treat CD.

Immune Suppression is exactly the wrong way to go

here is a new article with an experimental drug that BOOSTS immunity. Their theory is that the immune system fails to fight off the bacteria that invade the GI and a secondary infection develops that causes Chrohn's symptoms. This is the reason that some new treatments are using antibiotics successfully and the reason the pigworm works..it stimulates the immune system. I don't know if some doctors will ever change?

Prot... That's excellent news indeed... I am going to print this and take it to our new doctor that greyowl hooked us up with. This article supports his vision in using antibiotics to treat crohn's rather than immune suppressors...
Excellent!!!!

When's your wife's appointment with Mirkin? Will you have to wait long to see him?

Don't forget to take your journal references re: GH. Maybe I was talking through my hat when I pissed on its effectiveness re: Crohn's.

The appointment is set for June 14th.. I will be printing a few articles to take with me; along with the pathology reports and big list of questions I've been collecting since we found out about her condition. I'll keep you posted; and again I thank you.
