Yes, thats right. I spent the last month reading the communist manifesto. Those that arent familiar with it wouldnt know that Karl Marx wrote it. Of course this is the inspiration behind every communist/socialist regime thats ever existed. He is the originator. Karl Marx is the guy who BLM openly says they follow. In their words "trained Marxists". Karl was a German immigrant persecuted from his home country and lived the rest of his days hiding out in England. He was persecuted because of his views. These are the same views many liberal professors teach the young and impressionable. The same idealistic nation the democrats want us to become.
The problem with socialism/communism is the fatal attraction to it. Thats why despite its miserable failures in every nation its practiced in it keeps rearing its head. It is on paper and in the mind the perfect govt. But the reality is we live in an unperfect world. As you said absolute power corrupts absolutely. The word communism is rooted in commune. If u ever visited a commune in the states you get the gist. A small community contributes together and your paid according to your worth. Thats where the bourgeoisie and the proletariat come in. Fancy names for the ruling class and the working class. Cashless society, you own no land and your needs are provided by the state. This commune attitude can also include your wife is part of the commune in some applications. Remember this is key. You own nothing everything it is property of the state.
The appeal to this type of govt is poor ppl. They are promised their needs will be met and they will. The issue is down the road human nature takes over and once everything is provided for it kills desire to achieve. And why should you? Money is absolete and your rations are provided to you by the govt. This is the inevitable failure of the social ideal. Youll start to miss that old time jam you could get from thr farmers market, a particular flavor of beer. Or maybe your just tired of govt chicken and u want some beef. So you source out an insider and trade for a steak. You get caught with that its considered contraband by the state. Punishable by what ever means necessary.
Countries like Venezuela, Cuba, China, Russia, Italy and Germany all tried it. They all failed. The chinese are rebelling against the communist regime in China as we speak. Itll be bloody but i hope they achieve it. They desire freedom. Go figure.
Another unintended consequence of socialism/communism as observed in Russia and Venezuela is they dont manage their natural resources very well. Both countries have some of the most vast natural resources on the planet. Ripe for generating income. But since their is no desire to produce or exceed and the govt controls everything their citizens remain in pitiful poverty. Some of the worst living conditions in the entire world despite having the greatest potential.
Remember it all starts with free shit. I could go on and on. Gotta go
Marxism is rarely if ever practiced according to Marx. Most of the time in practiced reality, it's like all systems that have a top down approach. Someone barks orders and you obey.
Capitalism is the same as Communism, both systems take on an almost religious tone. Both demand obedience to the system. Both use propaganda to ensure obedience. Today both use surveillance to protect that system. Both set up police states to insure the top down structure to protect the elites.
Communism is idealized by those that feel they are powerless without the group, they have been defeated in life, they have never had a chance to exercise any form of power, in modern times they have been over socialized with heads full of rules for conduct, they are so stilted by these rules that they can't act, suffering from analysis paralysis. .
Capitalism has allowed three forms of power. Easy, Hard/Very Hard, Impossible. Most people live in the world of Easy and Impossible. Most people are frustrated by this because easy provides no satisfaction, and impossible only frustrates as they give up quickly when they realize their efforts are worthless.
Both systems will create envy, both will create noise, pollution, destruction, neither will allow autonomy.
Both systems feed on obedience and most people work for others(self employed under government regulations) regardless and thus more frustration and depression at this eternal lack of freedom.
Neither provide utopia, both will crush you if you stand in their way.
In the west capitalism promises freedom as long as none of those freedoms are actually meaningful or get in the way of the capitalistic system.
If you're an oddball and stand out, you can expect a bullet in the back of the head under communism, or a prison cell thanks to capitalism......choose your poison.
Thus people like myself have no respect for either system.
Just another message from your friendly anarchist.
