@MairUnderwood(Researcher): "Anabolic androgenic steroids (testosterone and synthetic androgens similar to testosterone) are categorised as ‘enhancement drugs’. But they aren’t always used for enhancement – sometimes they are used for repair. What’s more, this therapeutic use of these drugs is not always conducted in the medical system. In this paper I describe what some bodybuilders have told be about one way enhancement drugs may be used for repair outside of the medical system: self-medicated TRT."

I feel for anyone living in a nation/state without access too privately run AA clinicians.

The article and commentary completely reflects the abject idiocy you will run into in the GP and even "specialist" communities that seems to regard Testosterone and being slightly more dangerous than crack cocaine.

Nicely put together.

Yeah my dr said using it at all is abusing. Like stop me bro it's been the most positive change for me. Everyone has a "vice" why is feeling better, stronger, and looking good frowned upon if you are "above average "

Which no doctor in the world would dare say to a woman who needed hormonal adjustment.

For men the advice boils down to : "Just get old, weak, and die quietly... for fucks sake there are women and transexuals that need hormone help! You are just taking energy away from them!"

The preference is that males just shouldn't consume any healthcare resource beyond the meat wagon that picks up our corpse.

It's systemic prejudice. Males and their toxic masculinity must be systemically erased from society at all levels.

The only option where I'm from from is Nebido once every 12 weeks, trying to argue with doctors or trying to convince them otherwise (politely) will lead them refusing to treat you at all and showing you the door. You have no right to inject it yourself, only qualified nurse/doctor can do it.

The therapy is like this, 1000mg (4ml) injection once every 12 weeks of testosterone undecanoate (Nebido) so you can imagine what kind of crazy hormonal rollercoaster one is about to experience during that time frame...

Anti-aging clinics, super expensive and not so effective, they only offer T gels and anastrazole, clomid, hcg and maybe if you pay them good hgh too.

There is no enanthate, cypionate on the market so the options are limited. Docs can't really play with off label scripts, their hands are tied when it comes to not following manufacturers instructions and everyone is so afraid for themselves like their gonna lose their license and job tomorrow. One doc I know told me they get paid by big pharma companies and can only provide scripts for certain brands and they must follow every direction that manufacturer provides.

That's why I self medicate, not to mention, I would probably be rejected for treatment because of my age, but still the options suck and they're not about to change.

You could always move to another country with more freedom.
That's not possible for many.

With this said, testosterone is becoming so common in the US that i hope that we will soon have less regulations or at least a more mainstream approach on the use of testosterone.

If you’re in the U.S I don’t completely buy into that most here self medicate because they couldn’t get a doctor to prescribe it. If you have low T than you can get a prescription. It’s that simple. Now there are even online clinics that you just pay them your co-pay and tell them to call in the prescription to the pharmacy of your choosing. I feel most here are either abusing aas and would rather a doc not see that or maybe it’s due to insurance not covering it is why they self medicate. Sure, some docs may say no or may want to really keep and eye on you and monitor you a bit to closely but just move on to another doc or use a online doc. If you walk in just about any doctor’s office and show them you have low t and tell them that you suffer all the sides of low t like depression, low sex drive, no energy, etc and they won’t give you a prescription then they are not a good doctor.

It was as simple as I had low t, went and saw a specialist, pulled multiple labs showing I had low t and now I have a script for life. I see a specialist (urologist) once every 7 months for my scripts but even when I visit my GP he sees that testosterone is listed on my chart and always ask why I don’t just come to him to have it filled.

This is where science plays a part.

Testing a man for HFE genes H63D and C28Y, if they're negative then go ahead and use T because you have little risk of going above 55% hct even with blast cycles.

If doctors would just cut the shit and do this it would bring a great deal of clarity to an area where they act like all men are at risk of blood clots or heart attacks from thick blood.

I like most men came to this from low T, doctor told me 253 was too high for replacement. I found a doctor that would give it to me, but he would only inject every 2 weeks and really wanted to do it only once a month Cyp.

Called my brother and he sent me all the stuff I needed and hooked me up with the underground.

Sure mental problems are caused by low T, that's obvious. I'd say low DHT is even more important area to be concerned with regards to mood stabilization as I could if it was possible just stay on mast, but my prostate at almost 50 is starting to act up. Mast for suicidal men is an area that needs to be looked into.

And all of us should be able to buy pharmaceutical grade T, DHT compounds at the age of 21 as long as you run your labs and can prove your not trashing yourself. We gotta bring some sanity to this stuff eventually.

My doctor didn’t seem to know shit about testosterone. Wanted to give me test c shots every two weeks lol. I tried to explain to him the half life and he snapped at me and said “are you a doctor?”. Politely walked out and never tried to get a prescription again. Testosterone is very cheap and i shouldn’t need big brothers permission to use it. I also don’t like doctors and don’t want to waste my time with one perpetually sitting in waiting rooms every two weeks to be on a hormonal roller coaster.

Very good read.

I’ll be honest I probably have no business being on trt, actually I have none what so ever. But when I was 18-19 ish years old my bloods came back in the low 200s multiple times. No one would help. Endos, urologist, GPS I saw maybe 3-4 doctors that told me it’s all in my head and I’m in the reference range.

Did my first cycle, PCTed, was miserable and got lost cycle bloods came back In the 700s every time. Did 3-4 cycles with pct and decided it wasn’t worth cycling.

I’ve been on trt self prescribed for 3-4 months now and it’s night and day difference between pcting. Feels a lot better. Thanks to meso I have the knowledge base to do so. This forum has become Such a asset to many.

Thanks for putting the members in the spot light and hearing the community out. I hate the stigma that’s placed around us. Some of the realest hard working people you’ll ever meet are here with priceless knowledge.

This is true.

1. Many guys don't have medical insurance, I see this a lot on these forums, Insurance is expensive. A person could purchase everything he needs to self administer trt or hrt for few hundred dollars and be done. Also they have access to labs that can be ordered without seeing a doctor and of course today's user of T or other steroids is far better informed and conservative as time goes on, I can remember ten years ago people posting all sorts of blast cycles that were horrible for your health obviously, people are moving away from that crap thankfully especially now as we have clinicians online, increased knowledge and body builders that are killing over dead in their mid 40's from too much drugs and food.

2. In person doctors/clinics control your dosing and often will force you to the clinic to receive your injects. This is totally unacceptable for many of us that use our own system to dial in what we need. I want pharma grade everything as much as the next guy, I don't like having to buy China, but we're stuck here until things change.

3. Abuse if it is being done is usually only for short periods until the side effects outweigh the benefits. This is something the young do, not us older guys that can't take being on 1 to 2 grams a week, because we already made those mistakes and these young guys will eventually settle into a sane regiment that is conservative.

It's a form of gate keeping. Legislators listen to doctors because doctors want to make lots of money and everything has to go through them. Argument from authority and credentials.

If you could run your own labs...which we can. If you could self administer hormones....which we can. The doctor is out a lot of money.

So the doctor runs to the legislators and makes everything illegal because never forget the pharma and medical establishment is in fact a cartel, they're just not the kind that cut your head off with a chainsaw, they extract their pound of flesh by emptying your wallet and turning you into their slave.

I also had this experience with a doctor. He wanted me to come in to his office every week for my injection so I saw another doctor and began my trt journey. Easy peasy when you put in a little bit of effort.

For me it’s a no brainer. Health is my number one concern as it should be everyone’s. It’s important for me to see a doc and regularly pull labs and talk about them with a professional. It’s also great to have prescriptions and just be legal. My testosterone sits in my medicine cabinet or suit case with no fucks given as it’s sitting in the box it came in with a Walgreens label on it. It’s also a great peace of mind knowing my testosterone was made with higher standards.

Testosterone is very cheap

I pay $10 for a 10mg vial of activis (previously aka watson). Yes, I have insurance but even without it you can use a goodrx card and buy it for less than $40.

At first to get the process going I had to pull labs to show I had low T. Then once put on trt I had to come back in two months to pull labs to show how I responded to the dose I was on. From then out the doctor only wants to see me every 6 months but I push that to 7 months. While at the doctors office he says, see you in 6 months and then I walk up the the counter and make an appointment 7 months from that time.

Just trying to paint a picture here of how easy it is. Once every 7 months I go see a doc which takes about 1.5 hours of my time, I have peace of mind knowing I’m running pharma , that I’m perfectly legal to have it and most importantly is that I’m being health conscious. Quite honestly it makes me cringe to think of the idea of running trt from products made by numerous UGLs for the rest of my days.

This just in lol
Just got out of another doctor office. Nothing but women.
Most supportive group ever and were fine with me taking it. They don't like I self medicate. They don't Agree with high dose. But they agree that it's not the worst thing you can do and if it promotes other good health ventures in life its a positive as long as it doesn't interfere with life and health

Did you flirt? I've found women in the medical field are horny as hell.
