Injection timing for labs (EOD TRT)

Hey Everyone,

TLDR : When is the best time to get blood drawn in regards to EOD TRT injection timing?

I am sure this question has been asked and answered, but I couldn't find much on here (maybe I am bad at the search function).

Currently doing EOD injections and want to get routine labs, I see standards for getting labs 3 days after last injection when on 2x/wk, but whats best practice for EOD?
Seems like getting blood drawn 48 hr after last injection is common? Some people say skipping an injection and still doing 3 days?

Assuming it's not really a huge deal, but I would like to know best practice.

Thanks for your feedback!

It doesn't matter what your injection frequency is. You get blood drawn at your trough. Schedule the lab draw directly before an injection. Your trough is 48hrs because you do EOD. If you did ED it's 24hr, if you did E7D trough is 7 days. Trough is directly before scheduled injection regardless of injection frequency.

I have had my blood drawn at different times to see what is actually happening. After the injection they start to rise and at around 40-48 hours post injection my blood levels are at their peak not the trough. Then drop till the next injection. I would recommend everyone get tested at different times so they know what their levels are doing.

At EOD injections i would not expect any great swings in values. 24 hours post injection may be where you want to have yours checked routinely.

What ester do you use?

Well, most do it on trough and docs prefer it too. So basically your lowest point sort of, since it's eod, you would want to ideally get it done in the evening the day you don't inject, but that's being anal about it, just doing it in the morning or whatever time of the day when it's not your injection day.

Wrong. If he’s injecting mornings q48h, the evening of the he doesn’t inject is not the trough, it’s the morning afterward, and those 12h will make a significant difference in drug concentration when steady state is reached.

OP. Trough is right before your next scheduled pin
