Is Meso Losing Its Edge?

I’m gonna say this straight. What the hell is happening to this forum?

Moderation used to be about stopping scams and obvious nonsense. Now it feels like walking through a kindergarten with a whistle. “Don’t discuss this here.” “Don’t say that.” And now I’m being told I can’t post in the Q thread until April because I called an idiot an idiot? On a steroid forum?

This is a board built around testosterone, iron, risk, and grown men making grown decisions. Not a book club for feelings management. Since when did this place turn into HR at a corporate office?

Is this the GLP-1 era? Did appetite suppression somehow suppress everyone’s backbone too? It honestly feels like the edges are getting sanded down to make everything safe and controlled. And the more “controlled” it gets, the more lifeless it feels.

People wonder why the forum is quieter. Why the heavy hitters don’t post anymore. Why the guys with actual experience stopped sharing. Maybe because the environment shifted from blunt and honest to tiptoe and sanitize. A lot of the dudes who actually brought value just disappeared. And that’s not random.

You can modernize a platform without neutering it. Progress doesn’t have to mean sterilizing personality and shutting down straight talk. Right now it feels like overcorrection.

At this rate, it’s not trolls killing the forum. It’s death by soft moderation and slow culture shift. And yeah, that’s frustrating to watch.

I, too, have been restricted for talking to the same idiot esteemed new supporting member. It was my most liked post ever.

I lurked for a long while before joining. In the last several months, there has been a loss of several very good members. I hope I run into them in a private forum somewhere in the future. Gatekeeping has its place.

Ironically, it was a like on my profile status about being restricted that awarded me the "Esteemed" badge today. Jolly good fun.

You’re not imagining it. A lot of solid members are drifting to platforms where discussion is still open. I’ve had a “talking to” myself, even when the other party was clearly in the wrong, but when it’s pay-to-play, the rules get selective. It is what it is.

At the current rate, though, Meso is going to bleed out most of its genuinely intelligent contributors within a few years. Just look at the attrition already. Some very bright minds have quietly stepped away. I still try to contribute where I can for the few solid guys left, but even I’m starting to question how much longer it’s worth sticking around.

“Harm reduction”? Come on. That label feels hollow when the front page reads like TikTok gossip and surface nonsense. If the goal was actually harm reduction, certain threads would’ve been shut down or cleaned up instead of amplified. Paying members or not they should have been perma-banned

Information is going to be searchable regardless, pretending otherwise doesn’t protect anyone. Harm reduction, yeah okay.

I have noticed a bunch of super young homos posting about bloating and worrying about losing hair by pinning test. Fuckin nerds, man.

I think the kids call them looksmaxxers or some shit like that. I just call em queers. Or Nerdy ass homosexuals.

I have not noticed major moderation of posts though. Maybe I’m just not paying attention enough.

Yes it’s going to hell. But we take the good with the bad. Still some great discussions. Lucky to have vendors who make quality stuff and test raws and finished products. Handful of vets who are very knowledgeable and share what they know with vendors and members alike. Maybe I’m jaded but I think it’s a little silly to expect more than that.

I miss the days when someone would get bashed just for asking about oral testosterone or doing oral only cycles to avoid injections or pip. I don’t and won’t give advice anymore about compounds or cycles, i stick to the training forum and source threads that I actually order from.

Idiots are good for business, and creating a safe space for them is the priority now. I wouldn't be surprised if some sources even complained about "hostility" towards them because as long as they can be spoonfed to the point of ordering, it's (the real) mission accomplished. Wouldn't it be something if Tracy complained about people being mean? Many of these people shouldn't be injecting themselves with anything, so making it a kinder and gentler place for them is definitely not harm reduction. For example, the filthy soy boy using Tren at 20+% body fat who got himself a rash that looks suspiciously like bedbugs or chiggers. He doesn't want advice. He wants people to affirm to him how great he is.. and when they don't do that (understandably so, but not in his mind), he wants to argue about it. This is the kind of user Meso wants now... dumbasses that are easily separated from their money (especially ones willing to pay $10 a month).

Every time I log on I click “new posts” and usually peruse the first page. And I still have no problem bashing the nerds that deserve it. I wish more of y’all would so we could get back to the glory days of intimidating noobs lol

I do but apparently it has to be a soft approach. Otherwise a warning letter pops up Then I'm sure a ban of some sort.

I just report the kiddies and fools trying to find sources in the other forums. Engaging the folks most seem to have issue with is a waste of time, and given the info they are inevitable asking about is already floating around, I don't see the reason folks continue to reply under the guise of 'harm reduction'.

Popularity is up, and things are far less 'taboo' anymore, so there's going to be a lot of it, but ignore/report and move on is the only way forward IMO.

I haven’t been a member long, but lurked for about a year before joining. I started on the forums around 2000. Used to contribute a lot to world class bodybuilding back when basskiller had it going. Got out of the forum scene for a long time, and wow it sure is a lot different now that I returned. We used to soak up all the information we could from the old hands. Now all these young people want is for others to affirm what they learned on TikTok, and throw a fit if you don’t agree with it.

I only started posting recently, but have been lurking for years. This is the issue that I have noticed most. It makes me not want to participate as much when every other thread has some 14 year old telling everyone to use test prop and throwing unhinged kindergarten meltdowns about "boomers" and DHT in broken text speak.

I'm sure the other issues that people are mentioning are legitimate, but this one stands out to me the most. The forum is not as good as it was even six months ago because of it.

Okay tough guy I know you’re talking about me. I’m not 20+ body fat. I was that when I came into the forum literally in fucking December. When you’ve been in a 1200 calorie deficit for 2 months you drop 20 pounds, I dropped 30 cause of Reta. I know you guys automatically assume new members don’t know jack shit about training and diet, but I do and I don’t need any of you to affirm that for me.

It’s pretty fucking retarded to expect everyone that starts gear to be at the natural genetic limit. I’m 31 fucking years old, it would take me quite a long time to get there, and by then well my potential of getting on stage on gear, much lower.

You wanna know what’s really annoying about the internet? People are so fucking tough on here. Funny how someone above you said this forum is turning into tik tok gossip, and boom here it is.

I don’t take advice from people that dont have a physique to back it up. I’ve had some vets slide in my dms and give me advice (you know with nice physiques) and I followed it. Is doing Tren stupid? Yeah, but almost every single fucking member in the forum has done it, or currently is on it. So it’s pretty fucking hypocritical to tell me not to do Tren.

You guys don’t give advice, you just jump on new guys and talk shit when they don’t fit the mold of your ideal bodybuilder. The reality is all of us are fucking doing drugs, all of us are idiots, some of us just do more idiotic shit than others.

Im sure its changed a lot, but I wasn't around years ago.

It still reminds me of the good old days of the internet.

This is 1 of my 3 forums I regularly visit (none of them subject related) and they have all changed negatively a lot over the years.

I love this forum.

I hit the new threads, razz the noobs and the new vendors.

I hope I mainly contribute some humor and other qualities in the replies I make, because I still have relatively so much to learn compared to many of you all.

I honestly didn't know you could pay to play here. Will have to check that out.

Edit- how the fuck do you even become a donor/sponsor whatever. I fully expect someone to call me a retard and tell me its on the homepage or something

Censorship at its finest, welcome to the new Meso
