i told someone that most of our social problems stem from the fact that so many children are born out of wedlock. certian cultures tolerate woman having babies with different men. what is so raicist about that statement? its true. that breeds crime,welfare,poor education ect...it is just an ugly cycle. if you take 10 chiildren,5 from a family with both parents are at least both parents taking an active role in raising them,and then take 5 children who were born out of wedlock aaaaand have brothers and sisters from different men;those 5 are much more likely to wind up in jail or on welfre and worse yet,start the cycle all over again. if you look at alot of pro athlestes they all thank their mother's and grandmother's..where are the father's? i am certainly not anyone to judge but fact is fact....

I didnt notice you mentioned ANY race responsible for having so many children out of wedlock, so i dont think its a racist comment. Even if you did, and all your comments were based on hardcore facts backed by statistics, and not some ignorant opinion, it still wouldnt be a racist comment.

I think it's a stretch to say that most of our social problems stem from it, but it's certainly true that most of our criminal problems are caused by people raised in one-parent homes. It's also true that the the vast majority of single-parented people are law abiding. No, I don't think you made a racist staement, even if it was directed at blacks, which it wasn't.

I have no stats to back up my statement other than what i read and see on local texas news ...these kids that grow up w/ no father in home and excell in sports start getting pushed through the system in middle school and high school.what I mean by pushed through the system is:the school makes sure the kid passes his classes so he can play sports in school,if he get's in trouble on or off school grounds it is usually fixed so the kid can play on friday night. By the time this kid gets into UT or A&M (because he is an athlete)his grades will be tampered with again so he can play on saturday games.If he gets caught during an armed robbery nothing happens...he still plays...the media will show a small blip on it and all is forgotten.By the time the kid get's into the pros he has a 6th grade education,a long criminal record, etc...then everyone wonders why he cannot stay out of trouble....And yes..they always thank their grossly overweight mother who is sitting in the stands with 20,000.00 worth of jewelry on for making them what they are.......Am I racist ?

Since no one will play with me on Outlaw, I'll add it to this thread since it's applicalbe and I have a new audience.

How come we can have the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, but not the Los Angeles Stealing Hubcaps or the Detroit Sitting on the Porches? Why don't we just change ND's name to the Drunken Honkies?

Isn't ND's team name and mascot based on a stereotypical, aka racist, depiction of Irish Americans? How come it's alright to have the Drunken Honkies...errr, Fighting Irish...and to wear a Dago T or go Dutch on a date, but even inferring something in regards to blacks or browns is a hanging offense?

WOW, this is quite the debate. I'd have to say because the wounds are still semi-fresh. Unfortunately, racisim and hate crimes were very prevelent and the norm not long ago. I don't think its right that alot of people have this "i'm entitled" attitiude, but I understand were it comes from. The best way to aleviate this is doing what we do on this board, discuss and share thoughts and feelings, to understand and discourse with each other. Interesting stuff.
