Isolated Systolic Hypertension (HIGH SYS/LOW DIA)

Hey crew. Currently in the middle of my second cycle. Running 500 mast 350 test and just introduced injectable superdrol @8mg a day. Stats are as follows: 5ft10in 191lbs ~13% bf? Experiencing high Systolic blood pressure and low Diastolic pressure. Reading in the 140s over 50s-60s daily. (~2weeks of these readings) Not experiencing any chest pain but my heart beat feels more “intense?” than usual. I run 60mg Telmisartan and 2mg Nebivolol daily to keep BP in check. Anybody else experienced this issue as well? I tried donating blood today but was running a fever and got deferred. I’d prefer not to up the dosage of my ancillary drugs if at all possible. I don’t want to lower my diastolic pressure into an unsafe range. Will donate as soon as possible and drop an update. Essentially I’m writing this post to see if there are other users who have experienced this same phenomenon. This has been giving me some anxiety, as heart health is very important. Is there anything concerning about this issue? Anybody who experienced this able to bring BP into a normal range without further lowering diastolic BP??

Strange, I’m the opposite. Diastolic rises to 85-90 on cycle which I lower through adding more cardio and better dietary choices.

I am also on telmisartan 20mg off cycle and 80mg on cycle.

Maybe try adding more cardio sessions.

Systolic bp is more susceptible to sympathetic nervous system activation and is thus more susceptible to adrenergic stimulation (vasoconstriction and increased heart rate). Both of which aas impact heavily. Why did you think it was a good idea to add superdrol to the mix at this point? You should have been removing or at least lowering mast and definitely not adding in SD at this point in time.

I’m not super deep in my cycle. About 6weeks in with 6 to go. I was of the understanding that the protocol should be to increase dosage from this point. Which I haven’t done. Just added a new compound. If I continue to experience this issue after I donate blood I’ll drop the superdrol. Willing to lower my mast as well. I appreciate you helping me understand the mechanism by which my systolic blood pressure is being raised.

Always modulate your cycle according to what's going on, don't set everything in stone.

Why do you think you need to donate blood? Have you done lab's and saw high hct and is ferritin high enough so you can donate?

Regarding bp, electrolyte ballance plays an important role. Are you taking in enough sodium?

Regarding meds, you can try ones that release the tension in your blood vessels, alpha 1a antagonists, like clonidine for example. But if I was you I would drop mast and SD, drop T down to around 1500 ngdl and then re-asses. Your pulse pressure is really high and I wouldn't joke around with it at all.

Also, even if your hct is somewhat high, I wouldn't expect your bp to be resolved by a blood donation.

Superdrol and many orals suck if you want to lower BP, stick with injectables. The sudden spike and fluctuation doesnt help.

Hmm I'd never heard of pulse pressure before. My blood pressure has been around 130/65 for a few years regardless of AAS use. Systolic has been lower as well as considerably higher but diastolic never moves from mid sixties

Great you now know about it. Important concept in this space.

How can someone decrease systolic or increase diastolic if needed to reduce the gap? I'm floating from 110/55 to 118/65. Maybe my blood volume is low? Before i start Test my HCT was 42, HGB 14 and RBC 4,5 mil. After starting the test has improved somehow, i'm like HCT 45, HGB 15 and RBC 5,1 mil.

I have increased sodium and potassium (eating more potatoes and potassium salt 50% sodium, 45 potassium + iodine) but blood pressure still low. I don't crave high blood pressure ofc but a little higher diastolic i guess would be optimal. Only "side effect" i experience is sometimes postural hypotension especially during summer, getting up fast after a good leg press set and i see stars lol.

I always have high systolic normal or low diastolic. 2g of Beet root powder on top of 80mg telmisartan helped lower my systolic and left my diastolic the same. My diastolic tends to stay low whether on cycle or not so I don’t really worry about it anymore, just controlling the systolic

Yeah but if your pulse pressure is more than 40 it's still not good for your heart. For example mine with 115/60 may sound appealing because numbers are low but a pulse pressure of 55 is not good and i can't lower my systolic to 100 so they match.

Boss man! Sorry for the late reply, I really appreciate all of your knowledge. Lowered the mast and upped my sartan by 20mg. Taking it as it goes. No problems the last few days and am feeling less anxious. I do cardio every day and consume more than enough electrolytes. Wasn't too familiar with the concept of pulse pressure, now I get why my heart beat felt so "intense." Ferritin at 17.5 so I definitely could use a donation.

Will certainly incorporate beet root powder again. Used to use it PWO for nasty pumps.

40-60 is considered normal and to be the optimal range. Less than 40 or higher than 60 for extended periods of time is considered to be indicative of heart disease. This is at least what my cardiologist told me.

Good to hear that, thanks pal. Although I don't know if it's related to this but i'm hearing my heart beating strong into my ears, some times of the day i can feel it pretty intense especially when i'm trying to sleep and wearing earplugs. It's so effing annoying man.

Brother that sounds worse than what I was experiencing. Gotten any blood work done? Cardio? Current cycle? Medications?

I had this prior gear but now i think it's more frequent. Bloods are very good except slightly elevated ldl. My blood pressure is 115/60 and rest heart rate 62-70.

The medical term for this is "pulsatile tinnitus" and it comes with a list of potential causes. If ot persist perhaps it's a good reason to visit a cardiologist.
