Just had double carpal tunnel surgery...any pharmacology/physiology nerds that can help with my question?

As title said. Just had CTS surgery in both hands. Open, not lathjroscopiic. Shit hurts real bad. My girlfriend will be doing BPC-157 shots for me 200mcg twice daiyly.

Maybe @Type-IIx , @Dr JIM , or someone can help:

I am trying to figure out:
Is? the majority of post op pain from the incision, the actual being cut and released? or just general inflammation from having the skin and fascia cranked/pulled apart so they could access the nerves? (open procedure, not lathroscopic)

I am trying to figure out what the best pain med would be?
- If it is the nerves then perhaps gabapentin for nerve pain? I have a bottle on hand of 100 300 mg pills. Honsetly gabapentin would probably be helpful no matter what? idk though
- Tylenol/hydrocodone? historically this hasnt helped me that much. I have a permanent opioid tolerance from abusing heroin and fentanyl in my late teens. Quit a decade ago or more now but i did kratom for a couple years after and i just dont get any pain relief from less than 15-20 mg of hydrocodone. It really sucks. Which is why I though the gabapentikn might help??
- Obviously ice helps but with thes thick wraps i cant take off until after surgery it is really hard to get it to the point where i can feel the cold.
- Elevation kinda helps a tiny bit by reducing the blood flower/swelling
something else?

Lastly, any othern recommenedations to sped up healing besides TB-500. Any anabolics that would work or would low dose HGh help? Or ipa/mod grf?
I may notn be able to reply if I am nt=oy at my pc, i cant type on my phone at all. I WILL be watching for responses and reading them and reacting, just cant write well.m thank you so m,uch in advance for you help!

that's a tough one given your high opiate tolerance, but since you said its been a decade since you've taken any, take the hydro at the dose you feel able to function normally start low and build high

ive never tried thc, cbd or cbn for pain relief but there are so many anecdotal reports for pain relief

a glass of whiskey might help too although don't go crazy with the hydro and alcohol combo

im actually about to start running bpc 157 which is known for its healing properties, maybe look into that

also the best advice is to talk to your primary doctor about your pain, im sure your doc can better help you then us gym bros over here lol

im hopefully going to be a doctor one day and hearing about patients in pain sends me full on ready to help so please keep us updated on how your feeling, best of luck!

I have been vaping cbd (best bioavailabolity)
. I'll just see what the hydro does. Last time I was scripted 10/325s of oxygen for my gyno surgery and that barely did anything. I don't have any temptation to get high on stuff anymore. They say addictive is forever but in my case it was just a side effect of my awful depression and teenage hormone imbalance.

Unfortunately alcohol T And Tylenol can cause an extremely dangerous liver reaction even at low doses. I guess I'll just have to see how much different things help.
Thankfully my gf will be injecting me with bpc 157

I am just always nervous to ask for pain meds because I don't want to get flagged as drug seeking. Docs are so nervous about it now and My rural area has a lot of pain pill/heroin and abuse as well as meth. I just really don't want that mark on my records!

Thanks man!!

Typing this slow is awful lol. Normally I'm about 80 word per min! I voice typed and it still took almost 10 minutes.

I had endoscopic CT surgery, only pain I had was just from incision. Hand just felt kind of tight for a while, especially when gripping something.

Hgh could help the healing. I would even think of anavar for skin/wound healing.
What does your doctor say for pain?
He gave 10 5/325 hydros. But I may try the gabapentin too. It won't hurt so why not. I'll do 300mg every 6 hours.

Based off others, it seems like by day 3 the pain should really go down significantly. So I can take 2 days o pain. I'll be fine.

Sorry I replied but it got deleted. Basically I saw a bunch of little complaining of bad pain sheet m after scope procedure but not open. Also you don't have to be a heavily sedated for open AZ you do for lsthtoscopic.

Thankfully on top the bpc, I have a very fancy therapeutic ultrasound unit shipping to me soon! Should be here in time before I get my stitches out so once that happens I can treat the sites with ultrasound myself to improve healing and reduce scar tissue.

NMDA antagonists. You could also try Na+ channel blockers to stop the nerve cells from firing, ex) local anesthetics, tricyclic antidepressants, antiepileptic drugs.

Yes I wrote but lost it i accidently closed my tab. Gonna take 45 mg dxm 30 min before Norco to reduce tolerance and get better analgesic effects

BTW sorry for posting this on the steroid forum. I forgot to select a different one!

Well, given your addiction history, opioids are an absolute no. Gabapentin is at least associated with opiate abuse also. You were using heroin - aren't you disgusted by anything that could increase risk of relapse?

Have you considered that the body is better at healing than you might give it credit for, and that you should just avoid trying to accelerate something that eons of evolutionary pressures have shaped into something that trumps some peptide that may merely accelerate musculoskeletal soft tissue healing?

The peptides, including rhGH, can promote procollagenous activity (largely in the extracellular matrix) - but as for healing post-surgery? Nope.

IMO: Just take some Tylenol and rest up...

I appreciate your concern, thankfully I honestly don't have any issue with using pain meds anymore. I haven't abused in a long time, and my abuse was a result of being an extremely depressed teenager and having serious underlying mental health issues and hormonal imbalances, which I have long since resolved.

I can use them as needed and I feel zero urge to "get high" or continue using once I no longer need them. I had half a bottle of Percocet laying around for a year in my desk drawer where I sit every single day, that I just let be until I dropped a 45 lb dumbbell on my shoulder (fucking carpal tunnel) and then I took them for 2 days and stopped since I woke up and felt better, Tylenol could handle it. I'll stop when the pain is bad but bearable. Right now it is not bearable.. I've decided to only take the hydros at night and take gabapentin during the day. I do not like or get any good feels from gabapentin--IMO it is totally not abuseable. It does help with the pain though. Then before bed I am just going to take my 15 mg of hydro tonight and probably tomorrow night then I'll be done and just save the rest of them.

Anyway, if I have the BPC-157 already, there's no reason not to take it. I mean the studies that have been done, especially recently, are really incredible.

BPC improves wound healing in everything from liver and brain lesions, general wound healing, spinal cord injury, endothelial blood vessel healing and protection along with downstream pleiotropic effects. Not to mention healing the brain and counteracts neurological issues such as parkinsons. I hadn't looked at the research on BPC in a while and I was floored at the number of new studies coming out on it. BPC-157 even has anti-nociceptive effects all on its own!! It may even counteract myocardial infarction in some cases.

There are dozens more that have been published in the last couple years. As I said, I see no reason not to take it. Yes, of course my body will heal on its own, but if I can heal faster , more fully, and with less scar tissue, then that sounds good to me. I was already using it for my tennis elbow anyway. BPC-157 absolutely seems like it would be helpful for post-surgery healing, given the research on wound healing

So the HGH is pointless at this point then? What about for the tennis elbow recovery @Type-IIx

speaking of bpc-157 is there any specific time to take it regarding meals, like before or after? nausea could a be a side effect, what dosage are you thinking of running?

My doc never sedated me at all. Just used injectable lidocaine to numb my hand.

I've never had nausea from BPC, personally. Is that what you were asking? I always have taken it AM and PM. Wake up then again before bed.

Idk man, some level of sedation is definitely standard practice on top of a generous shotnof lidocaine. Not sure why this would be.

Just to be clear; i do not take the idea of relapse lightly. I just don't feel using opioids for pain relief alone, at a dose that doesn't get me high at all or provide any level of euphoria or anything above just simple pain relief is a risky activity. I know for some people it is but this is not something that causes any temptation or struggle for me. I do not have cravings or any desire to get faded at all. It's been so long since I've used opioids in that manner I have developed a fear of overdosing, to the point where the thoughtof using again is so unappealing i can't even consider it. Maybe if I was 6 months clean but a decade has gone by and I've trained myself to remember only the bad of using, none of the fake "good" that tempted me in the past. I've got through good and bad times and not struggled with it. I have better coping mechanism now.

Well I am doing better today, day 3, but sleeping is just awful. It no longer hurts to press my pointer and thumb together. Middle finger and especially pinky and ring fingers are super sore.

As you may know I already struggle to stay asleep in the wee hours of the morning, and this is making it soo mch harder. Been up since 2:30 but I'll probably take a naparter breakfast. Off the pain meds now, just taking tylenol. At this point it's just an ache. When I was a kid me and my buddies were building a tree fort (this thing was an incredible feat of engineering, I cannot believe we were only 8. I don't even remember where all the wood came from, but man it was amazing. One time I jumped out of the tree fort in progress and I landed on a piece of plywood with a nail sticking out. When fully through my foot right in between my bones. It feels very similar to that. Feels like I drove a nail through the base of my hands/wrists.

These fucking bandages are pulling on my arm hair and god DAMN it is starting to itch so bad. Idk if anyone else gets this, but if I wear socks for too long (or especially if I sleep in socks) my hairs start to get sore/itch. Then taking the socks off helps. I have to wear these things until Wednesday the fucking 13th. Literally 11 more days. I don't know if I can do it lol. I wish I had shaved my arms before the surgery or something.

Anyone know how to make this less itchy?

Careful man, I hadn't used heroin in 20 years and was in hospital with meningitis and the morphine drip woke up the beast. Glad your feeling better, but remember complacency kills addicts with substantial clean time

Take an antihistamine. Could ask the doctor for something called hydroxyzine/atarax

Itching is a sign of wound healing.

I has CT surgery 3 weeks ago. Just numbed my hands, made a small incision and did the release. I'm not in much pain anymore but can't put pressure on my palms and wrists are still not 100%
I'm terrified to do hgh again because I'm worried I'll get the CT pain and numbness again. Does anyone know if HGH frag causes CT symptoms? I also use BPC but can't inject it into my palms so I'm just injecting into my belly fat, is that a waste or will it still be beneficial?
Thank you for any suggestions or advice.

I think the hgh quite possibly helped heal my herniated disc and pinch nerver faster than it otherwise would
