Just venting...lost 10 lbs

It's hard for me to gain lean mass even on cycle. I worked hard to gain weight, but only gained about 10 lbs before I started putting on too much fat. I ate approx 3000 calories spread between 6 meals.

I don't weigh every day, but do at least once a week if not every few days. I have been busy at work and haven't been able to get all my meals in this week. I knew I wasn't eating enough, but I was trying to add in calories when I could even if I couldn't eat correctly. So I weighed today and I've lost all 10 lbs, and I'm still on my cycle.

The real kick in the shorts is I know it's all muscle because I'm still carrying close to the same extra fat around my abs.

The real kick is you didn't lose 10lbs of muscle. It is almost assuredly water weight and glycogen, with minimal amounts of fat and muscle.

Re-read that and it maybe doesn't make sense exactly. I gained 10 lbs but was gaining fat too so I decided 10 lbs was enough so I was maintaining that. Then got busy and lost it all in a week.

Unless you are covered in 3rd degree burns from head to toe, have some super advanced form of AIDS, or some other muscle wasting disease, it is damn near impossible to lose 10lbs of muscle in 1 week. That's fact.

Also, are you an ectomorph?
For a hard gainer it's surprising thay only 3k calories would start putting on too much fat, especially while on cycle.

What is your height and weight and bf%? We can get your TDEE established and help ya with your caloric intake

Perhaps you've mentioned your stats before but if you don't mind repeating them. Height, weight, lifting history, age? If you don't know how to build muscle naturally, aas won't help much.

I'm 44, 5'8". My normal walking around weight is mid 180's. I was up to 196, then at 186 when I weighed before starting this thread.

I've almost always stayed in decent shape, but let myself go for a few years recently. Ate out every daybat lunch and every night at home, drank beer every day. I knew I was low T because I had been diagnosed previously but grew tired of the shots and keeping up with it so I stopped. Jan 6, '14 I stopped drinking and within a couple months I got back on my trt and staeting hitting the gym again. I was a whopping 208 lbs of mexican food and beer, no muscle. I started eating healthier and lifting seriously then. I set a goal that I wanted to have abs again by the end of the year and made it. I was 172 lbs. I then changed my goals and want the bodybuilder look so I tried to gain weight and was lifting harder and heavier.

I wasn't training smart in the beginning, was overtraining alot. Injuries were pretty constant. Shoulder pain, elbow pain, forearm pain. I kept having to take time off to heal because as a shoulder started hurting, I would compensate somehow then the elbow would start hurting, then I would be in too much pain to do anything.

I don't know a while lot about diet. I hired an online nutritionist and he gave me a plan to follow that was 3000 clean calories based on the info I gave him. 1, 3000 clean calories is a ton of food and 2, it's boring as crap eating chicken breast and rice meal after meal after meal.

I cycle not because I'm at a genetic limit, but only because I'm on trt anyway. I did one poorly planned cycle in my late 20's then did lots of the "legal" prohormones back in the day so now I have a nkce reminder in the form of gyno about how you should research things more before you putnit innyour body. I'll look for some pics, but I really don't take many.

I didn't allow a camera around much when I was 208 lbs of pure fat. This was after starting to lift again and my wife wanted to take a pic.

I don't think this was my lightest weight, but it's the closest I have.

This is most recent but still about 3 weeks old. I usually stand that way because it hides the gyno that's worse on my right side, even though I have saggy side boob on both sides.

Oops. First time posting pics. Didn't realize they would all be put together rather than each individual pic per reply. I actually went into this cycle carrying a little extra fat. It wasn't the best decision, but I had everything ordered and the cycle planned out timing wise for my summer plans. Prior to the cycle, I had taken 3 weeks to a month off from lifting. Everyone(my imaginary internet friends) told me to build my base back up and lose the fat first, but I didn't listen.

Definitely don't look like a hard gainer to me. I know for a fact 3k cals and a heavy amm of test... I'm building muscle and losing fat lol.
Impossible to have lost that much muscle, maybe 2lbs and maybe lost water and glycogen anywhere from 3-5lbs. That's believable. If I want to I can gain 3 lbs overnight or lose 3lbs overnight. It's simple.

Don't worry OP. Stay strong

It was a tough week at work diet wise. Usually at work is when I can get every meal in and plenty of water. My job is pretty easy. I just wasn't able to eat all my meals. Plus, the day I weighed in had only eaten twice, I think, then came home from work and mowed, edged, weed eater, and swept up all the grass then went in and jumped on the scale. I was extremely hungry, shaky hands hungry, and probably dehydrated. Haven't got back on the scale yet, but I bet I'm at least back at 190 or more.

I try to weigh in the mornings, after evacuating the bladder for my baseline of weight gain, but to jump on the scale in the middle of the day and be down 10 lbs sucked.

Just by reading your original post I can assume someone has mentioned that you have NOT lost 10lbs of muscle.

I leave home before 8am and don't get back until after 9pm and I still pack all my meals. you can do it. If not, buy tuna and already cooked grilled chicken at your local grocery store. They are already measured and everything.

Next thing, 5lbs of truly lean gains over 15lbs of dirty gains. My gains are slow, I SLOWLY add calories, keep up with my cardio, and my results have been WAY better. I keep more of it, I don't end up looking like shit, and I don't have to do a brutal cutting where I end up losing even some gains that I had made.

Ummm.... I haven't done cardio in about a year and a half. When I religiously followed the clean calorie, 3000 cal diet, I was just maintaining my weight, not gaining, and since he had asked me not to do cardio so we could establish a baseline, I just never started again since my goal was to gain weight.

I don't religiously follow the diet, but I know how I should eat and mostly stick to that. I have cans of tuna and chicken at work for the days I can't cook. I have my own shelf in the fridge with all my supplies, a 5lb iso-100 whey protein container on my desk, rice, peanut butter, bagels, etc in my overhead cabinet in my cubicle. I'm not saying my diet is perfect, obviously but at work is usually when I stick to it best.

I eat first thing when I wake up at 4:15, normally kashi golean and 2 scoops whey, hit the gym, then when I get to the office I take my post workout shake and a bagel. I'll eat a minumum two, usually 3 more times before leaving work at 3:00.

Stick to a strict diet everyday. I'm not saying u have to but it depends on your goals. if u don't eat the same everyday u won't know what exactly needs to be changed. and u don't look like a hard gainer to me. just stick with it. You're making good progress. everyone falls of the diet sometimes. It's getting back on it as soon as possible is what keeps the results coming
