L-Carnitine for weight loss

Hello everyone,
I have no experience on L-Carnitine for weight loss.
I've read that the best protocol is to use 500mg in the morning, prior to fasted cardio, and 500mg in the evening before workout.
Can anyone confirm?
Is it to be injected subcutaneously into the fat?
Can you recommend a good source?

I'm on amino asylums right now dosed at 600mg 1 hour pre workout with meal. Only been on a week, but feels like it's working (yeah I know anecdotal) increased sweating and slight endurance boost.
